How to Build a Manor in Manor Lords

To manage your people and become a true baron in Manor Lords, you need to build a manor. It's not the most useful building at the beginning of the game, but it's an important structure for the development and strengthening of your settlement. In this guide, we will tell you how to build it and what advantages you can get.

How to Build a Manor

The «Manor» building is located in the Administration tab in the construction menu. To unlock this new structure, your settlement must reach the level of «Small Village», which is 5 active first-level land plots. Additionally, you will need 5 logs, 20 planks, and 15 stones.

After placing the manor on the map, the castle planner will automatically open. This is a design tool that allows you to place walls, gates, garrison towers, and a tax office (which is not available at the time of early access) next to your main building.

Besides its beautiful appearance, the manor brings several long-term benefits to your settlement:

  • Building a manor gives 200 influence, which is needed to claim other territories on the world map;
  • The completed building allows you to tax your peasants and passively replenish the treasury. You can click on the manor and open the «Taxes» tab, after which you can choose the monthly taxation parameters, such as land tax or tithe. Keep in mind that introducing taxes will lower the morale of the people, so use them as necessary;
  • If you want to create an army or protect the village from raiders, then the garrison tower will increase the maximum number of your retinue by 12 people. In addition, constructing external towers around the manor allows you to place troops there, shooting at any invaders who come too close to your village;
  • In the manor, you can sign rules that are located in the «Rules» tab, if you click on the name of the village. At the moment, only two policies are available. Hunting Grounds — wild animals in rich deposits reproduce twice as fast, but the harvest yields 50% less resources. Strict Post — townspeople skip every fifth meal. Food consumption is reduced, but so is morale.

***

That's all you need to know about the manor in Manor Lords. Most likely, as the project develops, the importance of the building will increase, new rules will appear, and additional structures.
