How to Find the Blacksmith in Black Myth: Wukong and Unlock Equipment Upgrades

In Black Myth: Wukong, there are many secrets that players continue to discover. Some of these mysteries significantly impact gameplay, such as the blacksmith and the ability to upgrade weapons. In this guide, we will tell you what you need to do to be able to modify the found equipment.

How to Obtain Luna Scales

Completing this quest will begin in the second chapter, but you can always go back and finish it if you haven't done so earlier.

Return to the arena where you fought the First Prince of the Flowing Sands. The nearest altar is Sand Gate Village. Valley of Despair.

One of the walls is different from the others — it is not just a rock but many small Buddhas. You can break it either with the help of the boss or on your own. If you didn't do this with the First Prince's help — it's okay. Choose the Wandering Undead as your spirit and charge it for a strike. The fastest way to charge it is to rest near the shrine. Stand as close as possible to the wall with Buddhas in the center and strike with the spirit's head. A breach should form. If it doesn't, try again, shifting slightly. Inside, there will be a chest with Luna Scales. This artifact grants you access to a whole range of dragon-like bosses in all chapters.

Where to Find Chen Long

Now you need to go to the third chapter to the altar Bitter Lake. North Shore. If you have already completed the third chapter entirely, the boss should still appear. If you haven't crossed to this area on the turtle yet, proceed with the storyline first.

From the altar, face the water and turn right. You need to approach the water almost closely. The character you need looks like an elderly dragon, small in size. He should be in the water, as there will be an improvised arena, and he is a mini-boss. The important point is that without the Luna Scales, which you found in the second chapter, this area would be empty.

Defeat Chen Long, after which he will stop the fight himself and ask for a healing pill, which can be obtained from Xu Dog.

How to Help Chen Long and Find the Blacksmith

You definitely met Xu Dog in the second chapter. He supplies you with enhancing medicines that can permanently increase your stats. If you have fully cleared the second chapter, Xu is now in the basement of the Tiger Temple. Go to him and talk about Chen Long. You will immediately receive the necessary pill.

Give it to the dragon, who will now be in his small house nearby. Immediately after this, a cutscene will start, in which you will be given a scroll with the Painted Kingdom. This artifact will transport you to a secret area. This is a blessed resting place where Xu Dog, Chen Long, the drinking monkey, and another character — the tiger blacksmith — will be automatically transported.

The dog will continue to supply you with celestial medicines, and the dragon will allow you to grow seeds to craft standard potions. The drinking monkey improves the flask.

The most interesting is the blacksmith. He can upgrade previously found armor, enhancing its quality and effects. This is especially important when the equipment's properties pleased you, but it loses to new gear in defense. You can also challenge the tiger to a fight, but the battle is very tough, so it's better not to rush into it.

Don't forget to activate the local shrine to be able to return at any moment. Since all the main friendly NPCs are gathered here, this will speed up movement between them and avoid jumping from chapter to chapter. Although there is no Stone Man here, you can always reach him on your own.
