How to Play Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 on Split Screen
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 offers players the opportunity to immerse themselves in dynamic battles and engaging story missions. The cooperative mode allows you to team up with friends to complete missions, tackle challenging tasks, and fight numerous enemies. In this guide, you will find instructions on setting up multiplayer and enabling split screen for a comfortable cooperative gaming experience.
How to Enable Split Screen Mode in Black Ops 6
To play in split screen mode in Black Ops 6 on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S (the mode is not available on PC):
- Launch the game and select the «Multiplayer» or «Zombies» mode.
- Connect the second controller and press the X button on the DualSense controller or the A button on the Xbox controller.
- Log in with a different user profile (it must be linked to an Activision account).
- Confirm the login to the Activision account for the second user.
After completing these steps, you can play in the selected mode in split screen format. In multiplayer, the opponents will be bots, not real players.
Overview of Black Ops 6 Multiplayer
Black Ops 6 multiplayer offers a dynamic gaming experience with several modes, divided into two main categories:
- Free-for-All: Every player is an opponent; the one who eliminates the most enemies wins.
- Team-Based: Work in a team to defeat opponents and achieve objectives.
In multiplayer, after each match, you earn various types of experience points that allow you to progress in the game:
- XP (Player Points): Increases your rank, unlocking new equipment and rewards.
- WXP (Weapon Points): Unlocks upgrades for the weapon you are using or, in some cases, for an entire class of weapons.
- BXP (Battle Pass Points): Allows you to progress through the game's seasonal content and unlock exclusive rewards.
Earned points can be increased by completing tasks and participating in limited-time events, giving more opportunities for advancement and rewards.
Zombies Mode
Round-Based Zombies is a cooperative mode that has become an integral part of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 series, developed by Treyarch. Players face continuous challenges, complex storylines, and secrets on the maps. With two maps available at launch and a third planned for the first season, Zombies mode offers hours of rich content.
Features of the Mode
Round-Based Zombies is unique with its system of increasing difficulty and rewards with each new round. Levels become more challenging as your team eliminates zombies. Zombies appear in waves, and the round only ends after complete extermination.
At launch, the maps Terminus and Liberty Falls are available, each revealing its part of the overall Dark Aether story. During the game, listen to audio briefings that will help you navigate and progress further. Hidden clues may also appear—carefully examine your surroundings.
Zombie loadouts are customized in the weapons menu and differ from multiplayer. They include:
- Primary Weapon;
- Melee Weapon;
- Field Upgrade;
- Tactical Equipment;
- Lethal Equipment;
- GobbleGum Set.
The initial loadout is minimal, but it quickly improves as you progress through the game.
Currency
Essence is the primary currency in zombie mode, earned mainly by killing zombies. Additional essence is awarded for hitting critical points, such as the head, and it allows you to purchase weapons, perks, and equipment.
Scrap drops randomly after killing zombies and needs to be picked up. Scrap is rarer than essence and is used for powerful upgrades, so use it wisely. Now you can save your progress in zombie mode in Solo play. If you have reached a long session, save it through the pause menu in a safe place and return later.
