How Saving Works in Zombie Mode

Two initial maps are available in the game — Terminus and Liberty Falls. Both maps have saving and pausing features, allowing players to manage their progress flexibly. Saving is only available in solo mode. Choose Play Solo before entering the map:

  • After the first round, you will have the option to use these features. Note that you can only have one save at any given time for each map;
  • To save your progress in the game, pause it and select the Save And Quit option in the bottom right corner of the menu. This will end your current game and save the round progress. However, keep in mind that your save will start from the beginning of the next round, and any progress made from the start of the current round will be lost.
  • To reload a save, go to the Zombies section, then click Select Mission and then Save File. You will see a list of all current save files. From this list, you can choose the desired save and continue the game from where you left off.

Save files will be deleted after loading a new one, so don't forget to save them again if necessary. Also, keep in mind that save files are only available for 30 days after the initial save. After this period, they will be automatically erased.

To reset this timer, you need to enter the map and save the game again. However, note that this must be done manually. Thus, regularly saving your progress will help you avoid data loss and allow you to continue the game without risk.

How to Pause the Game in Zombie Mode

In the regular multiplayer zombie mode and offline play in all previous parts of this series, the pause only displayed information about the current map without stopping the game action. Finally, players have the ability to truly stop the game, making short pauses. This allows you to conveniently take notes or look up information without fearing that zombies will attack you.

The solo pause feature allows you to pause the game for only 15 minutes. After this time, the gameplay will resume automatically, regardless of your actions. If you need to pause for a longer period, you will have to save the game and exit it. This will give you the necessary time without the risk that the game will continue without your participation.
