Stretchable and transparent monitors, weird robots and a futuristic dream gaming room — what's interesting from CES 2025
The Consumer Electronics Show or CES is an exhibition dedicated to the latest computer technologies. It often shows future video cards, consoles, and other devices used for gaming and more. In this article, we have collected all the most interesting things that could be seen at CES in 2025.
New video cards from NVIDIA
The exhibition showed RTX 50-series video cards, which are based on the Blackwell RTX architecture:
- RTX 5070. Price — $549. It will be available for purchase in February;
- RTX 5070 Ti. Price — $749. On sale since February of this year;
- RTX 5080. Price — $999. Will be available for purchase from January 30;
- RTX 5090. Price — $1999. Will be available for purchase from January 30.
And in March, the first laptops with these video cards will go on sale. NVIDIA President Jensen Huang said that they are using neural rendering technology. Thanks to it, they will be able to take a step forward in performance and image quality. Fifth-generation tensor cores are used to work with artificial intelligence.
Each presented video card is twice as powerful as its 40th series counterpart. We are talking about comparisons of RTX 5070 and 4070, RTX 5080 and 4080, RTX 5090 and 4090. At the same time, RTX 5070 can be considered an analogue of 4090 in terms of performance.
One of the features of the 50th series is support for multi-frame generation. With its help, you can increase the FPS value by 8 times. However, at the time of the release of the video cards, only 75 games will support this technology, mainly new products in the form of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Star Wars Outlaws.
We talked about video cards in more detail in a separate article.
What brand of video card is in your computer?
DLSS 4 Technology
The 4th version of Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) has been released. Moreover, it is available not only on new video cards, but also on models of the 40th, 30th and 20th series. Using a transforming model with artificial intelligence, it was possible to increase detail during movement and the stability of ray reconstruction, as well as improve frame generation.
Reflex 2 Technology
The new version of Reflex will reduce the delay time between the user's action and the game's reaction to it. This is especially important in multiplayer shooters. At first, the technology will be available only in The Finals, but later it will appear in Valorant. They promise that the delay will decrease from 27 to 12 milliseconds. However, only owners of 50-series video cards will be able to evaluate Reflex 2.
Advanced NPCs in Games
NVIDIA ACE technology will make in-game characters much smarter. They will assess the situation and respond to the player's actions, but at the same time retain their behavioral features that are provided for by the scenario. This will make the world more realistic. It is known that such NPCs will appear in the life simulator inZOI. It is called "The Sims of the new generation".
In addition, the new artificial intelligence will be used to make your opponents behave realistically. They will be able to adapt to the player's tactics and develop their own strategy to achieve the goal. You will encounter bots with the new AI in PUBG: Battlegrounds and the PC version of Naraka: Bladepoint. They will also be added to Dead Meat and MIR5 at release.
Project Digits
A personal supercomputer on a Grace Blackwell chip, which is designed to work with artificial intelligence. First of all, it is aimed at programmers who work with AI models. But anyone who is willing to pay $3,000 (305,039 rubles) for such a device will be able to experiment with neural networks.
G-Assist Electronic Assistant
G-Assist is a program based on the aforementioned NVIDIA ACE technology that will help manage your computer. It will be able to tell you how to achieve maximum performance in games, and will allow you to manage applications and peripheral devices, such as a printer and scanner. Commands are given both by text and voice. Access to G-Assist capabilities will open in February.
New video cards from AMD
AMD showed the Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT video cards, which rely on improved ray tracing performance, optimization of computing devices and encoding quality. It is also possible to note the scaling technologyFSR 4, which turned out to be an analogue of DLSS from NVIDIA, and support for artificial intelligence to improve image quality.
Stretchable screen from Samsung
This unusual device allows you to create a 3D effect without glasses. True, the result looks strange. But for now we have only a concept of the technology that Samsung partners will certainly use.
Transparent monitor from Samsung
Perhaps in the near future, transparent displays will become commonplace, but for now they are perceived as devices from science fiction films. According to Samsung representatives, their monitor provides the clarity of OLED screens.
TCL AI Me Robot
This computer resembles baby Grogu from the Mandalorian series, who moves in a special egg-shaped capsule. Some people call him cute, others — creepy. The robot's functions are standard — a voice assistant using artificial intelligence and video recording.
Lockly Styla Edition
A door handle with a built-in computer that can perform smart home functions. It has a built-in video camera, night vision and an integrated fingerprint reader. Works 10 months without recharging.
Future Immersive Entertainment Concept from Sony
A gaming room of the future, where there is everything you need for full immersion in the game. LED panels instead of a regular screen are combined with surround sound, tactile sensations and smells. Most likely, such rooms will appear in entertainment centers.
Classic monitors and TVs that were shown at CES 2025
- Samsung The Frame Pro. An improved version of The Frame TV, which can display paintings or other images in standby mode. The new product has a Samsung Neo QLED display and LED backlighting;
- LG 6K (32U990A). Ultra-thin monitor with 6K resolution. It is compatible with Thunderbolt 5 technology, so it supports all the main features of Mac computers with M4 Pro chips;
- Dell 32 Plus 4K QD-OLED. The key feature of this monitor is directional sound. The position of your head is tracked using artificial intelligence, after which the audio signal is directed so that you always get surround sound.
The exhibition will continue until January 10. The material is updated....
