This mod adds the legendary Lotus Type 49 to BeamNG.drive, one of the most important Formula 1 cars of the late 1960s. The car was built around the 3.0-liter Ford Cosworth DFV V8, which also served as a structural part of the chassis. This layout would become a defining concept in Formula 1 for many years.
The Lotus Type 49 made its debut at the 1967 Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, where Jim Clark scored a victory, giving both the Type 49 and the Cosworth DFV their first Grand Prix win.
The car weighs approximately 540 kg and produces around 410 hp, paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a rear-engine layout. Its minimalist design leaves very little space between the driver and the mechanical components, making it an especially raw and extreme racing machine.
