Quake game series
Quake is a famous series of shooters, the first part of which was released back in 1996. Despite the fact that almost all Quake games are multiplayer-oriented, initially it was a completely ordinary single-player shooter. After some time, the first mods appeared, thanks to which, for example, the first part of Team Fortress appeared. But there was a normal plot only in the second and fourth Quake.
The first really crude hint at multiplayer was in Quake 3 Arena. You can play this part alone, but there’s not much point in it due to the lack of any plot. Currently a popular multiplayer shooter in the series is Quake Champions.
