The developer of Days Gone admitted that he was planning a trilogy
Fans of the zombie action game Days Gone could count on not a sequel, but an entire trilogy. As the creative director of the game admitted, the ending of the first part was created with three games in mind.
John Garvin directly reported this on social networks:
I can’t speak for @JakeRocket but sure … as you all know, I wrote a cliffhanger into the ending of #daysgone with the full intention of there being a trilogy (NOT just a sequel) I talk about it here https://t.co/RPgkXfHMWb https://t.co/5q5JO69Iua

Let us remember that Bend Studio really planned to develop the franchise, but the plans had to be abandoned due to Sony's decision. According to insiders, the company simply did not consider the series to be successful, despite the large sales. The developers spoke about what the second part was supposed to be like in 2022.
Earlier, one of the creators of Days Gone denied new rumors about the development of a sequel, again accusing Sony of canceling the game. And recently there was a rumor that Bend Studio was making an expensive service game.
