Jason Schreier: BioWare's workforce has shrunk to less than 100 employees

BioWare is going through hard times — according to a report by Bloomberg columnist Jason Schreier, its staff has been cut by more than half. Recall that earlier, several employees reported mass layoffs.

This week, it became known that even veterans left BioWare. For example, among them was the screenwriter of the Mass Effect series, Dragon Age: Inquisition and The Veilguard Patrick Weekes, who had worked at the studio since 2005.

However, the scale of the layoffs turned out to be much larger. According to Jason Schreier, two years ago, BioWare employed more than 200 people, but now there are less than 100 employees left in the studio. Some of the staff was transferred to other projects, a small team was left to work on Mass Effect 5 and support Anthem.

Earlier, Electronic Arts reported that Dragon Age: The Veilguard attracted a much smaller audience than the publisher had hoped. Sales were likely also low.
