Publisher of TMNT: Shredder's Revenge Announces a New Game: A Dynamic Beat 'em Up Set in a Fantasy World

Dotemu, the publisher known for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge and Streets of Rage 4, has announced a new game called Absolum. The development is a collaboration with Guard Crush and Supamonks studios.
Absolum is a dynamic beat 'em up with roguelite elements, promising a unique experience with each playthrough, featuring diverse encounters and secrets for players to discover.
The main action unfolds in the world of Thalama, where brave heroes fight against the tyranny of Azra. Among them are Galandra, a necromancer with a giant sword; Karl, the last dwarf with a blunderbuss and incredible strength; and the mysterious Brom and Cider. These fighters unite to overthrow the Sun King, combining magic and physical prowess.
The game features a combat system that allows for powerful strategic combos and counterattacks. It offers both single-player and cooperative modes (online and split-screen). Additionally, the project is accompanied by a soundtrack from composer Gareth Coker, known for his work on Ori and the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wisps. He is joined by Yuka Kitamura and Mick Gordon, famous for their soundtracks in the Dark Souls and Doom series.
The release is set for this year on PC (Steam), Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and PlayStation 4. Gameplay is promised to be showcased in the spring.
