Ahead of the release of Split Fiction, developer Josef Fares appeared on the Fall Damage YouTube channel to answer some of the most common player questions. One particular comment accused the game of promoting "feminism propaganda," prompting a blunt response from Fares.
The story of Split Fiction revolves around two female friends, which apparently upset some players. Reacting to the criticism, Fares made it clear that he doesn’t care about the gender of his characters and urged players to take a more relaxed approach.
Let me say this: in Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons there were two guys, in A Way Out were two guys, and It Takes Two there were one guy and one woman. And now there are two girls, and everybody's complaining?
Let’s face it, man, and it's also like based on my daughters. I don't care what you have between your legs, that's totally not interesting for me. Good characters is what important.
Split Fiction launches today across all platforms. The game has already received glowing reviews from the press.
