Frogwares has unveiled a new gameplay trailer for the adventure action game The Sinking City 2, inspired by the works of Howard Phillips Lovecraft. The developers have also announced the launch of a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter.
The team has already surpassed their funding goal of $108,000. At the time of writing, the project has raised $194,000.
Key Details:
- Set in the 1920s USA, in the infamous city of Arkham;
- A supernatural flood has driven out most residents, leaving only the most deranged, while the streets are filled with decay and eerie creatures;
- Frogwares launched the Kickstarter campaign to secure additional funding for the project;
- The studio focuses on horror, emphasizing combat mechanics, world exploration, and Lovecraftian atmosphere;
- Players will explore ruined mansions, flooded markets, and abandoned hospitals, both on foot and by boat;
- Limited resources and inventory force careful decisions on what to carry and what to leave behind;
- The game will feature side quests and puzzles that allow deeper exploration of the environment, uncovering secrets and alternative paths;
- The story promises to be "morally gray and captivating," revolving around personal loss, cults, rituals, and mystical creatures;
- The combat system has been completely overhauled to make gunfights more dynamic and enjoyable;
- Introduced a "Wounded Body" system, showing how damage visually affects enemies.
The Sinking City 2 is being developed on Unreal Engine 5 for PC (Steam and EGS), PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
