Recently, the post-apocalyptic shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl celebrated its 18th anniversary since release. In honor of this occasion, GSC Game World shared a festive message.
Time flies, and our good old friend Shadow of Chernobyl turns 18 today. Once a promising newcomer, now a beloved entry into a whole new world — the Zone. The starting point for millions of stalkers who ventured in, seeking glory, money, fame, truth, or just answers to their own questions.
It’s been a worthy journey — years of dodging anomalies, uncovering mysteries, hoarding cans, and laughing at Sidorovich’s charming personality. The Marked One set the path, but every stalker who followed has added their own tale to the Zone’s legend.
If you still have the original disc — show it off! It may be a little worn, but its legacy will never fade. Happy birthday, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl!
