The hacking group MKDEV, known for bypassing FIFA 23's protection in 2023, has announced they've cracked the PC version of Persona 5 Royal. The game was previously protected by Denuvo.
Persona 5 Royal is an expanded and enhanced version of Atlus's critically acclaimed Japanese RPG. It introduces new story content, additional characters (the young gymnast Kasumi Yoshizawa, school counselor Takuto Maruki, and the mysterious young man Jose), a new location (Kichijoji), alternate endings, 29 new songs, a darts game, and more. The game first launched in 2019 on PlayStation 4 in Japan, followed by a global release in 2020, and then became available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch in 2022. The project boasts a fantastic 96% positive rating on Steam.
Previously, a hacker known as voices38 cracked the PC version of the pixelated beat 'em up Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game — Complete Edition, which was released in 2021. Before that, Relic Entertainment officially removed Denuvo from the real-time strategy game Company of Heroes 3.
In October, Atlus mentioned Persona 6 for the first time in four years, appearing in a survey for Switch 2 owners.
