It's worth mentioning right away that there is no perfect armor in the game. That is, you can always upgrade an item yourself or find an even cooler item at later levels. For example, the Samurai Jacket looks very cool on the main character, but you'll likely get it at a moment when the armor rating is noticeably lower than your current armor. Moreover, you can't apply modifications to it, making this stylish bomber an unnecessary clutter in your inventory. However, this can be fixed through crafting and special perks.
How to Craft Powerful and Stylish Armor in Cyberpunk 2077
First, you need to level up the Technical attribute of your character. Ideally to level 18, as it will allow you to create legendary clothing items and upgrade existing ones to the legendary class.
With the Technical attribute leveled up, you need to upgrade perks: Apprentice (allows you to create rare items), Master (allows you to create epic items), Inventor (allows you to create legendary items). With these perks upgraded, move to the Crafting tab. Start by switching to the Upgrades submenu and look for the clothing item you need. To upgrade, you'll need components. Hold the Upgrade button and get improved characteristics on the item. Then repeat this procedure until the item disappears from the list for further upgrades.
Here we have the item fully upgraded. If its stats don't suit you but you really like how it looks (for example, I really liked Johnny's clothes), then we go back to the Crafting tab and look for your current clothing item. That is, if you have a rare item, it will appear purple in the crafting menu. You will also need minor components to create a new version of the armor. Press the Craft button and receive a new, improved version of the armor. You should understand right away that this will be a completely new type of clothing that will not look different from the previous one, but it may have pockets for modifications and altered stats.
Repeat the upgrading procedure and then create a legendary version of your armor. Next, upgrade your equipment to the maximum level. This upgrading method has a few downsides. First, you'll have to search for or buy components, which tend to run out very quickly. And second, sooner or later you will come across another, cooler armor that will eclipse the existing one.
Where to Find Iconic and Legendary Armor in Cyberpunk 2077
It's worth repeating once again that there is no perfect armor in the game. In Cyberpunk 2077, there are items that can be greatly upgraded in terms of stats and look very stylish on the character, but that doesn't mean they are the best armor in the game.
