To explore the Sumeru region in Genshin Impact, players need to acquire an ancient lyre and learn seven Aranara melodies. All of these are required to summon Dendrograna, activate teleport points, and solve various puzzles. Players who have recently started their journey in Sumeru might find it challenging to learn these melodies. Today, we'll guide you on how to obtain all Aranara songs.

Aranara Songs in Genshin Impact. What Melodies Exist and Why They Are Needed

Aranaras are peculiar beings living in Sumeru. You can encounter them by undertaking the world quest «Encounter in the Woods: Aranyaka». Completing this quest chain, the hero will meet these beings and also unlock the Vanarana location. Here, you can learn the first melody. But why are these songs important?

The melodies will help you explore Sumeru, gain access to locked caves, and solve puzzles. Below, we've described the purpose of each Aranara song:

  1. The Great Dreamer's Song — playing this melody in front of Silapna allows the hero to enter a dream or attract an Aranara. It also activates the gates of dreams.
  2. Vamadhi's Song — as you travel through Sumeru, you'll often encounter locked caves. This melody is needed to open them and dispel Vamadhi.
  3. The Gloomy Path Song — enables the activation of stone teleport points. Where they lead is anyone's guess.
  4. The Beastly Trail Song — upon encountering a large glowing flower, play this melody. A new passage will open nearby.
  5. The Sprout's Song — some Dendrograna in Sumeru must be awakened manually using this melody. Note that such branches awaken only one Dendrograna.
  6. The Source's Song — the melody can control the Varunastra machine.
  7. The Song of Rebirth — needed to restore stone tablets and columns.

How to Obtain the Ancient Lyre

The Aranara songs are useless without the ancient lyre. This is the main item for any traveler who decides to seriously explore the Sumeru region. Obtaining the instrument is quite simple. Complete the following quests:

  1. Encounter in the Woods: Aranyaka
  2. Aranyaka. Volume 1: Children from Vimara Village
  3. Aranyaka. Volume 1: The Expedition
  4. Aranyaka. Volume 1: The Lost Child

After completing these tasks, start the quest Aranyaka. Volume 2: The World of Aranara. Grandfather Amadhia will kindly hand over the ancient lyre to the main character. All that's left is to unlock all available melodies.

How to Use Aranara Songs

Once you've acquired the instrument, equip it through the inventory. Approach the object you can interact with and press the corresponding button (on PC, press Z).

All that remains is to play five notes. There's nothing complicated here — the game itself highlights the correct keys.

How to Learn The Great Dreamer's Song

This melody becomes available during the quest «Aranyaka: Part 2 — The World of Aranara». Follow the story until you reach the Vanarana location. Here, the peculiar beings will teach the hero to play the song, which he must then use to activate the Gates of Dreams.

Note: Be sure to complete the specified quest, as without it you won't receive the Forest Adventure Journal (Aranyaka book) and won't be able to do the world quests.

How to Learn Vamadhi's Song

Open the Aranyaka book in your inventory and go to the fourth section «Vimana-Agama». Complete the following quests:

  1. Vimana-Agama: Chapter 1
  2. Vimana-Agama: Roindjan Chapter

During the last task, Ararikan will teach the hero to perform this melody.

How to Learn The Gloomy Path Song, The Sprout's Song, and The Beastly Trail Song

Use the Forest Adventure Journal and activate the world quest «Nursery of Dreams». To unlock the three melodies, you need to complete the following quests:

  1. The Song Leading Through The Gloomy Path
  2. The Song Nurturing The Sprout
  3. The Song Opening The Beastly Trail

How to Learn The Song of Rebirth

To learn this melody, you need to find an Aranara on the slope of Gandha and start the world quest «Agnihotra Sutra».
