This is an optional quest that you can decline before you leave Melve. However, we do not recommend doing so. At the well, you will be met by Lennart, who will ask you to eliminate a nest of giant lizards under the bridge.

It's not mandatory to run to the nest itself, unless you want to engage the monsters and inspect their corpses. Take a barrel from near the entrance to the village and throw it across the river directly into the nest.

For completing the task, you will receive 1250 gold, 400 experience points, and a potion of Courage Extract.
