Everything You Need to Know About GTA 6: PC Release, Characters, Map, and Cheats

Rockstar recently released the first trailer for GTA 6. It showcased the main characters and a vibrant city inspired by the real Miami. However, we still don't know much about the game itself. This guide compiles everything you might find interesting about GTA 6: PC release, game characters, preliminary map, and the presence of cheat codes in the game.

Unfortunately, Grand Theft Auto 6 will not be available on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Rockstar Games has decided to drop support for last-gen consoles and announced that the upcoming game will only be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This was expected, as the last-gen consoles' capabilities would not suffice to support such a large-scale project. Just look at the first game trailer: the hardware would have to process a huge amount of textures and objects — from beaches filled with NPCs to busy highways.

At the time of writing this guide, Rockstar has not confirmed the release of GTA 6 on PC. Most likely, it will happen after the console versions of the game are released. Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar's parent company, stated in a press release that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be released on PS5 and Xbox in 2025. There were no mentions of PC or last-gen consoles.

The absence of a mention of a PC version might be confusing, but it's important to remember that a similar approach was applied to previous studio projects, such as Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2. Both games were initially released on consoles, and the PC release happened about 2 years later.

Most likely, the GTA 6 PC release will occur sometime after the launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. We hope it can be done as soon as possible, as a huge number of players can't wait to return to Vice City — a fictional version of Miami, USA.

Considering the preliminary leaks that confirmed the return to Vice City, it would be reasonable to assume that GTA 6 might be a prequel to one of the parts. After all, the action of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City takes place in the same city in the 80s.

Nevertheless, GTA 6 is not a prequel to any other part of Grand Theft Auto. Judging by what we observed in the first trailer, the game takes place literally in our days. For this reason, it is likely the furthest part of the GTA timeline we have ever seen.

Despite this, it's hard to say whether any story characters or moments from the previous game will appear in GTA 6. The first trailer does not hint at this. However, we will definitely see some classic GTA brands in the game: Ammu-Nation, Sprunk Cola, and Redwood.

It's worth noting that most games in the series are quite standalone, and they almost lack references to previous games (if there are any, they are very minimal). Thus, we recommend not expecting any serious continuation of the story from Grand Theft Auto 5, Grand Theft Auto 4, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, or other parts of the series.

For the first time in the franchise's history, Rockstar has introduced to GTA fans a female character who, along with her partner, will conquer the criminal world of Vice City. If the information from leaks is to be believed, they will be called Lucia and Jason.

Lucia is the main heroine and a former inmate with Latin American roots. In the trailer, she appears before us as a determined gangster who pays no mind to dangers.

In the first frame of the recently released GTA 6 trailer, we see Lucia in an orange prison uniform, talking to a parole officer. It might seem that she is not at all guilty of criminal actions. To the question of why she ended up in prison, she answers that she was just unlucky.

Lucia is not only a character but also a huge innovation in the GTA franchise. She is the first main female protagonist since the original game, as well as the first main character from Latin America. The girl's name has already gone viral on social networks and among the huge base of GTA fans worldwide.

Jason is the male half of this criminal duo and, incidentally, Lucia's lover. Judging by the trailer, it can be assumed that he is an experienced driver and is responsible for the girl's safety while she performs reckless actions.

In fact, there is still no reliable information on whether Jason will be a playable character. But if the leaks are to be believed, players will take on the roles of these two heroes. Although the exact circumstances of the duo's origin are still unknown to us, we can confidently assume that they met on the streets of Vice City.

At the moment, Rockstar does not reveal details about the main characters. But 2025 is still far away, and we have only recently seen the first trailer, so we will surely learn more details about Lucia and Jason in the near future. Based on what we've seen in the first trailer for GTA 6, there's nothing to suggest the appearance of Tommy Vercetti. Although he was the main protagonist in Vice City, it seems his time ruling the criminal world in the region has passed. It's highly unlikely that Tommy Vercetti will appear in GTA 6, except perhaps in a minor clip or as a small reference — he could well become a little easter egg for the franchise's fans, but this has not yet been confirmed.

At the end of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, we see Tommy and his accomplice Ken finally establishing themselves as the main criminal authorities in the region. After that, these characters have not been observed in any part of the GTA series.

The original actor who voiced Tommy Vercetti, Ray Liotta, unfortunately, passed away in 2022. If he did not manage to record voice lines for a cameo role while alive, Rockstar might prefer to pay tribute in the form of an easter egg or reference to this character. Therefore, the most likely scenario is that even if we get a reference to Tommy, it will be very minor.

Fans are expecting that in addition to the two main protagonists of GTA 6, there will be many more characters introduced. Some even hope for the return of characters from previous GTA franchise games, such as Trevor Philips. As with Tommy Vercetti, we do not know for sure if Trevor will be implemented as a playable or secondary character in GTA 6.

In one of the final cutscenes of GTA 5, we see him alive. In 2015, he also appeared in GTA Online as part of the Series A Funding Heist. However, these hopes are currently just the imagination of players around the world. In the GTA 6 trailer, we did not see Trevor, Michael, or Franklin — the key characters of GTA 5. But we also know that Rockstar loves surprises.

The new trailer for GTA 6 showcases bright and memorable scenes characteristic of Florida. We see the neon lights of Vice City, a crowded beach, and alligators in unexpected places.

Before the official announcement of GTA 6, there were many leaks, including details about the gameplay and the map of the game. GTA fans formed an idea of the map based on the leaked information. One of the map images, created by DeviantArt user avatar-sd, received wide recognition for its accuracy, albeit with some creative modifications.

After the release of the official trailer, fans began comparing it with the leaked map. They have already found matches, such as the night view of the Vice City highway and the bridge crossing the Leonidas waters, which confirms the authenticity of the map leaks.
