Liny in Genshin Impact: Best Builds for Weapons and Artifacts, Talents and Leveling
Liny is a five-star Pyro character in Genshin Impact, set to debut in the game after the 4.0 update. In this guide, we will cover all of the hero's abilities, the resources required for leveling him up, as well as the best equipment and teammates for a team featuring Liny.
Description of Liny — Title, Affiliation, Constellation, and Gender
- Gender: Male;
- Constellation: Spotted Cat;
- Region: Fontaine;
- Affiliation: Epiclès Opera House;
- Title: Illusionist, renowned in Cour de la Fontaine.
Liny is known as an illusionist from the Cour de la Fontaine theater. Even though the audience knows that they are being shown tricks rather than real magic on stage, they remain delighted. Interestingly, Liny quickly earns people's trust in conversation. Even a brief acquaintance might lead you to start sharing your deepest secrets with him. Alas, Liny does not open up to anyone. Perhaps he truly has something to hide.
Liny's Talents
Liny's Active Skills:
Card Force Shuffle (Normal Attack). The hero performs up to four shots with a bow. The plunging attack is a barrage of arrows that strike an area. The charged version of this attack consumes stamina but deals additional damage.
If you hold the bowstring drawn for a while, it will trigger a special prop arrow. This is an enhanced charged attack. Upon hitting an enemy, it materializes the Cat Hat. The item distracts enemies, and after its destruction or when its duration ends, a Pyro charge attacks the nearest enemy. By default, there can only be one Cat Hat on the battlefield, but their number can be increased to two through constellations.
If Liny's health is above 60%, the enhanced charged attack will consume a portion of his life force but apply 1 level of the Excess Props status to the hero.
Dazzling Light (Elemental Skill). The character releases a firework that deals AoE Pyro damage. All levels of Excess Props are removed, and due to them, Liny's health is restored. Additionally, enemies take extra damage. If there is a Cat Hat on the arena, it will explode and attack enemies with an AoE blast.
Grand Illusion: Parade of Wonders (Elemental Burst). The hero transforms into the Laughing Cat. He attacks enemies with fire, and after the skill ends, launches a firework that deals Pyro damage, summons a Cat Hat, and applies 1 level of the Excess Props status to you. It can be used to restore the character's health if you use the elemental skill.
Liny's Passive Talents:
- Risky Performance. If Liny's arrow from the enhanced charged attack consumes his health, then the summoned Cat in the Hat deals 80% more damage.
- Final Applause. Increases Liny's damage by 60% and that of all team allies by 20%. Attacks on enemies under Pyro status will be even more effective. Damage to them increases up to 100%.
- Trivial Observations. All of Fontaine's curiosities will be displayed on your map.
Constellations of Liny
If you obtain Liny again during prayers, you'll receive «Luck» for your hero. With it, you can unlock special passive abilities:
- Whimsical Wonders. This constellation allows summoning two Cat Hats at once. The prop arrow, which appears with the enhanced charged attack, will create two such hats and grant Liny 1 level of Excess Props. The effect can occur once every 15 seconds.
- Enticing Fantasizing. Every 2 seconds, Liny gains 1 level of Ultimate Attention, which increases critical damage by 20%. The effect can stack up to 3 times and disappears when you switch heroes.
- Sleight of Hand. Increases the mastery of the normal attack (Card Force Shuffle) by 3 levels, but not beyond 15.
- Rehearsed and Memorized Plan. Hits from the hero's charged attack on an enemy reduce their resistance to Pyro (fire) by 20% for 6 seconds. The effect does not stack.
- Penetrating Secrets. Increases the level of the elemental burst (Grand Illusion: Parade of Wonders) by 3 levels, but not more than 15.
- Insincere Smile. The prop arrow will release an additional pyrotechnic projectile that deals 100% of Liny's damage. Considered a charged attack.

Weapon and Artifact Builds for Liny
Weapon
First Great Focus. Liny's signature bow, which perfectly suits your hero. Its base attack is 46-608 units, with a critical damage bonus of 14.4-66.2%. Additionally, it increases damage from Liny's shots and skills by 12-24%. For each Pyro-element character, it adds 1 level of Acting Mastery. At the first level, attack power is increased by 8-16%, at the second by 16-23%, and at the third by 40-80%. Movement speed also increases by 4-12% (1st level), 7-15% (2nd level), or 10-18% (3rd level). This weapon can be obtained through prayers.
Polar Star. A decent option that can be equipped if Liny is the only Pyro-hero in your team. This five-star bow deals damage of 46-608 units and has an increased critical hit chance of 7.2-33.1%. Elemental skill and burst damage are increased by 12-24%. If a shot or active skill of the hero hits an enemy, they receive 1 level of the Polar Night Star effect, which additionally increases attack power. At the 1st level, the bonus is 10-20%, at the 2nd — 20-40%, at the 3rd — 30-60%, and at the 4th — 48-96%. The effect lasts for 12 seconds. Polar Star can be obtained through the Divine Enfleshment prayer.
Amos' Bow. A five-star bow that also suits Liny. Base damage is 46-608 units, with an additional attack bonus of 10.8-49.6%. Normal and charged shots deal 12-24% more damage. Every 0.1 second of arrow flight increases hit efficiency by 8-16%. The effect can stack up to 6 times. This bow can be obtained through the Wanderlust Invocation prayer.
Blackcliff Warbow. This four-star weapon has an attack power of 44-565 units and a critical damage chance of 8-36.8%. Each enemy killed by your arrows increases attack power by 12-24%. The effect lasts for 30 seconds and can stack up to 3 times. This bow can be purchased in Paimon's Shop for 24 Starglitter.
Hamayumi. A decent free four-star weapon that can be used if you don't have a better option. Its base attack is 41-454 units, and the damage bonus is 12-55.1%. As a passive skill, it offers an additional increase of normal attack by 16-32%, and charged attack by 12-24%. If the hero's elemental energy is at 100%, the latter bonus is doubled.
To obtain the Hamayumi bow blueprint, you will need to open a chest on one of the islands of Inazuma. For this, you will need to collect mysterious conches on the shore. We have indicated the exact location of the chest on the map.
To craft the Hamayumi bow, you will need:
- Northlander Bow Billet (1);
- Crystal Chunk (50);
- White Iron Chunk (50);
- Mora (500).
Northlander Bow Billets can be obtained from Stormterror, Wolf of the North, Azhdaha, and Childe.
White Iron Chunks can be found during your travels through Teyvat.
Crystal Chunks are also easily found in the open world of the game.
Artifacts
Crimson Witch of Flames

- 4 pieces — The damage of Overloaded and Burning reactions is increased by 40%, and Vaporize and Melt by 15%. Using an elemental skill increases Pyro DMG by an additional 7.5%. The effect can stack up to 3 times.
A good option for those who focus on elemental reactions with Electro, Dendro, Cryo, and Hydro characters. This set can be obtained in the Hidden Palace of Zhou Formula dungeon. Its location is indicated on the map.
Wanderer's Troupe
- 2 pieces — Elemental Mastery is increased by 80 units;
- 4 pieces — Charged Attack DMG is increased by 35%.
An excellent choice for those who prefer elemental Pyro damage through Liny's charged shots. This set of artifacts can be obtained from bosses such as Stormterror, Wolf of the North, Geo, Anemo and Electro Hypostasis, Oceanid, Pyro Regisvine, Cryo Regisvine, Childe, and the Ancient Geovishap.
How to play as Lyni? Which characters go well with her in a team?
First, activate the support character bonuses or attack enemies with various elements that combine well with fire. Then switch to Lyni, attack the enemies with enhanced charged prop arrows. When the elemental burst is ready — use it. This way, you will deal area damage and restore Lyni's health. If desired, you can manage without a healer, but we recommend taking one in the team just in case you can't replenish vitality.
A team with two (or three) Pyro characters:
Pyro characters create the effect of Blazing Fire, while Anemo heroes cause the Swirl reaction. The team is especially effective with Lyni's signature weapon (First Great Focus) and the Wanderer's Troupe artifact set.
A team with Hydro and Dendro characters:
The combination of Pyro and Dendro triggers the Burning effect, which means continuous fire damage. Meanwhile, the interaction between Pyro and Hydro creates Vaporize, which increases attack power. Applying Hydro and Dendro allows for the materialization of cores. They instantly detonate from a fire attack.
Team with an Electro character:
Combining Electro and Pyro allows for the creation of the Overloaded effect, which deals Pyro damage in an area. This is especially effective when using the Crimson Witch of Flames artifact set. Anemo characters will enable an increase in elemental fire damage.
