Where to find iron and salt mines
In the game, there is a cave full of stones from which iron and salt can drop. You can use a pickaxe to mine it. The area around the cave is full of bears and wolves. If you don't have a pickaxe, you can buy one in the village to the right.
Where to find a Waterskin
When you head to the hunting cabin for the wolf quest, you will pass a small lake. To the right of it, there's a path that veers off the main road. Just take a few steps, and you will find a waterskin (a merchant sells it for 200 gold) lying on a broken cart.
Where to find Stone
As you walk, listen to the sound of your footsteps. Suddenly, you might hear an unusual sound, as if someone is walking on gravel. That's the sound of stones. Or simply keep your eyes on the ground as you walk, and at some point, you will spot stones lying around.
Where to find Reed (Straw)
In the beginning, it can be incredibly hard to find straw, which you need to collect from reeds. Just exit through the western gates of Gostovia to the reeds. The reed you can collect is the small green plants among the bigger ones.
Where to find St. John's Wort
St. John's Wort is a plant with a yellow flower. This plant seems to dislike the forest; it can be found in open areas.
Where to get money at the start of the game
Head into the forest, find clearings with bushes, and gather berries. You need to collect them in quantity, as 500 berries can be sold for 500 gold. It's not much, but it will help at the beginning of the game. This method only works in spring and summer.
Why you need a house
In houses, you can sleep and store your items. For storage, you can use chests in the house. Sleeping in a bed restores health. People who want to join your village will need a house before they agree to settle.
