Best Builds for Setos in Genshin Impact
Setos is a four-star Electro archer in Genshin Impact. From our guide, you will learn about the most effective weapons and artifacts for him, the materials needed for his development, and the companions who perfectly complement the traveler's abilities.
In a Nutshell about Setos
Setos excels as an attacking hero with high Electro damage using charged attacks. At the second level, they pierce through enemies. The elemental burst also consists of a series of precise shots, and the elemental skill deals additional damage and, under certain conditions, restores energy.
Description of Setos — Title, Affiliation, Constellation, and Gender
- Gender: Male;
- Rarity: ;
- Element: Electro;
- Weapon: Bow;
- Birthday: May 31;
- Constellation: Cartouche;
- Affiliation: Temple of Silence;
- Title: Desert Emissary.
Setos is known as a mysterious traveler who loves to wander through the desert and tropical forest. Rumor has it that he has saved many people who got lost in the endless sea of sand. The boy is excellent at navigating by the sun and always knows how to reach an oasis where travelers can find cool water and shade from palm trees. Several times he even rescued the unfortunate who got stuck in the swamp and couldn't get out.
Setos finds joy in communicating with interesting people. During his walks through the desert, he often strikes up conversations and learns a lot about the lives of other travelers. The boy knows so much that he could easily pass the entrance exams to the Sumeru Academy. But he doesn't see the point in it for himself.
The thing is, Setos is a follower of the Temple of Silence, which preserves the knowledge of the times of King Deshret. He, along with Cyno, was chosen as a vessel for the power of Hermanubis. But while the second boy was taken by Cyrus from the Academy, Setos stayed and was raised according to all the rules. And after the ritual battle, he himself became the head of the Temple instead of Bamun.
Active Skills of Setos
Normal Attack — Royal Archery Mastery. Setos shoots from his bow three times. A charged arrow consumes stamina but allows for precise aiming and hitting the enemy. At the second charge level, you will pierce through enemies and wound everyone in the path of your attack. However, you won't be able to move during this time. The plunging attack is a barrage of arrows that wounds all enemies within a certain radius.
Elemental Skill — Ancient Rite: Thunderous Roar of the Sand. The archer strikes opponents with electricity. If an elemental reaction occurs afterward, the character will restore 12 energy points. This happens if the Overloaded, Stimulated, Superconduct, Vegetation, Aggravate, «Charged», or Swirl effect involving the Electro element occurs. Cooldown — 8 seconds.
Elemental Burst — Secret Ritual: Twilight Shadow Piercer. Setos activates Twilight Meditation. All shots become Twilight Bolts, which function like level 2 charged attacks. Their damage is influenced by elemental mastery. The effect lasts for 8 seconds but will disappear earlier if you switch characters. Cooldown — 15 seconds. Energy cost — 60 points.
First, level up the hero's elemental burst. Then pay attention to normal attacks. Develop the elemental skill last.
Setos' Passive Skills
- Revelation of Thoth. Indicates unique resources of the Sumeru location on your map.
- Mystery of the Black Vulture. Reduces charge time while aiming by 0.258 s per energy unit. Thus, preparing one shot can take only 0.3 seconds with 20 energy units. The timer cannot be reduced further. This way, you can release up to 4 enhanced arrows in 1.2 seconds. However, note that energy will be consumed at a rate of 50% of the maximum per shot.
- Grace of the Sand King. The effectiveness of level 2 charged arrows increases by 700% depending on elemental mastery. The effect lasts for 5 seconds after the first hit and applies to the first 4 shots. The skill recharges in 15 seconds.
Setos' Constellations
Constellations are unique skills that significantly increase the hero's effectiveness. To access them, you need «Luck» for a specific character. This requires Setos to drop for you again during wishes. Or you can choose him as a reward for completing all tasks of a certain event.
- 1st Constellation. Hymns of the Sealed Sanctuary. The critical hit chance of a level 2 charged arrow increases by 15%.
- 2nd Constellation. Papyrus of Silent Secrets. If Setos uses an elemental burst, replenishes energy with an elemental skill, or spends it on charged shots, the effectiveness of his shots increases by 15%. The effect lasts for 10 seconds and can stack up to 2 times for each separate action.
- 3rd Constellation. Ode of the Sage of the Rising Moon. Increases the effectiveness of normal and charged attacks by 3 levels, but not above 15.
- 4th Constellation. Collection of Benevolent Feathers. When level 2 charged shots or Twilight Bolts from the elemental burst wound two or more opponents, the elemental mastery of teammates increases by 80 units for 10 seconds.
- 5th Constellation. Chronicles of the Deity of Burning Sands. Increases the level of the elemental burst by 3 units, but not above 15.
- 6th Constellation. Book of the Temple of the Wandering Sun. When a level 2 charged arrow hits an opponent, the energy spent on the second passive skill will be replenished. This phenomenon can occur once every 15 seconds.
We recommend first upgrading the second constellation, as it will guaranteedly increase your damage. Then pay attention to the first skill, which increases the chance of critical hits, which can be useful in battle. If you have unlocked the 2nd passive skill, you can use the sixth constellation to spend less energy.
What resources are needed to upgrade Setos' talents
Faded, bordered, and gold-threaded red silk can be obtained from Hermits.
Teachings, guides, and philosophies on «Honesty» can be found in the «Tower of Ignorance» dungeon on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Crown of contempt will be given as a reward for completing certain events, as well as for reaching level 11 of the Tree of Eternal Frost.
What materials are needed for Setos' ascension
After reaching level 20, the hero's leveling will be paused. To continue development, you need to perform the ascension procedure. Certain resources will be required for this.
We have already mentioned red silk above.
Shards, fragments, chunks, and precious Vajrada amethyst gems can be obtained from bosses such as Deepsea Vishaps, Electro Hypostasis, Thunder Manifestation, Seki no Kami, Electro Fern, Ancient Geovishap, Magatsu Mitake Narukami no Mikoto, Millennial Pearl Seahorse, Stormterror, Azhdaha, Childe, and Primo Geovishap.

Cloud armor drops from the Suanyi Hermit.
Weapons for Setos
Hunter's Path. A five-star bow with a base damage of 44-542 units and a critical hit chance of 9.6-44.1%. At the same time, the character's elemental damage increases by 12-24%. If your charged shot hits an enemy, the next attacks will deal more damage by 160-320% of elemental mastery. The effect lasts for 10 seconds or 12 activations and can occur once every 12 seconds.
The best choice for Setos. This bow increases the effectiveness of charged attacks, which the hero actively uses. And the damage scales from elemental mastery, the main parameter of the character. You can obtain the Hunter's Path through the Divine Incarnation prayer.
First Great Focus. Lin's signature weapon is also suitable for Setos. It has a base attack of 46-608 units and critical damage of 14.4-66.2%. The damage from charged attacks will be increased by 16-32%. If there are heroes of other elements in your squad, the effectiveness of the shots will increase. For one character, the damage bonus will be 16-32%, for two — 32-64%, for three — 48-96%. Fighters of the same element will increase movement speed.
This bow is most effective if Setos is the only electro-character in your team. Most likely, this approach will match your tactics. Bonuses to critical attacks and charged shots will be especially useful for your archer. You can obtain the First Great Focus through the Divine Incarnation prayer.
Amos' Bow. A four-star weapon with a base damage of 46-608 units and an attack power bonus of 10.8-49.6%. The effectiveness of its normal and charged shots is additionally increased by 12-34%. For every 0.1 seconds of flight, the arrow will deal more damage by 8-16%, but no more than 40-80%.
A good option, especially if you keep the enemy at a distance. Ideally, the arrows should have time to fly for half a second. You can get this bow in the Divine Incarnation banner.
Cloudpiercer. A four-star bow with an attack power of 42-510 units and an elemental mastery bonus of 36-165 units. When the warrior's energy decreases, elemental mastery increases by 30-80 units for 18 seconds. The effect can stack up to two times.
This weapon is tailored for Setos. Moreover, you can get it completely free during the Mutual Safety Enhancement Simulation event. It is available from June 7 to June 17, 2024.
Best artifacts for Setos

The best set for Setos if you rely on charged shots. You can get artifacts from this set after defeating bosses such as Ancient Geovishap, Childe, Azhdaha, and Oceanid, as well as various elemental hypostases and orchids.
Wanderer's Troupe + Gilded Dreams
- 2 pieces: increase elemental mastery by 80 units;
- 2 pieces: increase elemental mastery by 80 units.
An alternative option that works exclusively on elemental mastery. You will find Gilded Dreams in the Spire of Solitary Enlightenment dungeon. Its location is indicated on the map.
Wanderer's Troupe + Thundering Fury

Setos is most effective during elemental reactions, so this artifact set will be useful to you. Those who actively use the elemental burst should pay attention to it first.
Thundering Fury + Thundering Fury
- 2 pieces: increase electro damage by 15%;
- 2 pieces: increase normal and charged attack damage by 15%.
Alternative combination, which is effective if you rely on charged shots.
Secondary parameters for artifacts
We have arranged them in descending order of importance, from the most important to the purely secondary:
- Elemental Mastery;
- Base Attack Power;
- Critical Damage;
- Critical Hit Chance;
- Energy Recharge.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Setos
Advantages:
- Simple gameplay that allows even beginners to effectively play as this character;
- Ability to use two tactics — charged attacks or a combination of normal shots with elemental burst;
- Can increase the rate of fire of charged shots and reduce energy consumption for them;
- Applies electro-infusion, which simplifies the occurrence of elemental reactions;
- Restores energy during reactions with other elements;
- You can only upgrade elemental mastery and critical attacks. Other characteristics depend on them;
- Focusing on elemental mastery makes it easier to select artifacts;
- Simplifies resource gathering in the Sumeru region.
Disadvantages:
- Effective only in the position of the main attacking character and obviously inferior to five-star heroes in terms of effectiveness;
- Low base attack;
- Playing through charged attacks may not be very convenient for those who play on a smartphone;
- The most powerful level two charged shot makes Setos freeze, making him vulnerable to enemy attacks;
- Charged attacks without unlocking the sixth constellation consume a lot of energy, so you will have to choose between them and the elemental burst;
- Ineffective in teams that focus on pure electro damage. You need to focus on elemental reactions.
How to Play as Setos
Setos acts as the main attacking character. You have two main tactics: shoot level two charged arrows at enemies or rely on the elemental burst, and while it recharges — use normal attacks. We recommend experimenting with both approaches and choosing the one you like best. The choice of weapons and artifact sets will not change from this.
Before the battle, it is advisable to restore Setos's energy to the maximum. With the help of other characters, create a basis for elemental reactions. Then switch to the electro-archer, use the elemental burst or perform a series of charged attacks. While recharging and restoring energy, deal damage with other characters, apply shields, or heal.
Which Heroes Combine with Setos in One Team
Team with two electro-characters (Aggravate reaction + electro-resonance)
- Main attacking hero: Setos;
- Electro character for resonance and additional damage: Fischl, Yae Miko, Raiden, Beidou, Razor, Lisa, or Sara;
- Dendro hero for elemental reactions: Nahida, Collei, Kirara, or Traveler (Dendro);
- Healer: Bennett, Barbara, Kokomi, Charlotte, Mika, Shinobu, Yaoyao, Diona, Jean, Sayu, or Dori.
Electro resonance will generate elemental particles that restore energy. The combination of Dendro and Electro will trigger the Stimulation reaction. Then shoot with Setos's bow to achieve the Aggravate effect. Its effectiveness directly depends on the hero's elemental mastery.
Team with two Dendro characters (Aggravate reaction + Dendro resonance)
- Main attacking hero: Setos;
- Dendro character for resonance and elemental reactions: Tighnari or Alhaitham;
- Dendro hero for elemental reactions and resonance: Collei, Nahida, Traveler (Dendro), or Kirara;
- Healer: Barbara, Bennett, Charlotte, Kokomi, Mika, Dori, Shinobu, Diona, Jean, Sayu, or Yaoyao.
The difference between this team and the previous one is that you exchange energy-restoring particles for additional damage. This is achieved by increasing elemental mastery from Dendro resonance.
Team with Dendro and Hydro characters (Vegetation reaction)
- Main attacking hero: Setos;
- Hydro character for elemental reactions: Yelan, Furina, Tartaglia, Xingqiu, Nilou, Neuvillette, Mona, Candace, or Ayato;
- Dendro hero for elemental reactions: Traveler (Dendro), Nahida, Collei, or Kirara;
- Healer: Kokomi, Mika, Dori, Shinobu, Barbara, Sayu, Bennett, Charlotte, Yaoyao, Diona, or Jean.
With this approach, it is important to first achieve the combination of Hydro and Dendro. This will create cores. Then apply an electro attack to activate them and direct them to the nearest enemy. Otherwise, the battle tactics remain the same.
Team with two Hydro characters (charged + Hydro resonance)
- Main attacking hero: Setos;
- Hydro character for resonance and elemental reactions: Yelan, Furina, Tartaglia, Xingqiu, or Ayato;
- Hydro hero for elemental reactions and resonance: Mona, Nilou, Neuvillette, or Candace;
- Healer: Kokomi, Mika, Dori, Shinobu, Barbara, Sayu, Bennett, Charlotte, Yaoyao, Diona, or Jean.
The combination of Hydro and Electro will allow continuous electro damage. And as a bonus, Hydro resonance will increase the maximum health of the attacking character.
