Walkthrough of Archon Quests in Genshin Impact: Interlude Chapter, Act 3. Inversion of Genesis

With the release of update 3.3 in Genshin Impact, a new series of story quests Inversion of Genesis became available. During the quests, players will have to help Scaramouche get rid of his past and gain new consciousness to become the Wanderer. In this guide, you will find a detailed walkthrough of all the quests in the series.

How to Start the Archon Quest Inversion of Genesis

To complete the quests, players need to make sure that the story characters are not occupied with other quests. Otherwise, you will not be able to start or continue an already started quest.

Complete the following requirements:

  1. Reach Adventure Rank 40;
  2. Complete the Archon Quest Akasha Pulses, the Kalpa Flame Rises: Act 3, Chapter 5;
  3. Complete Kazuha's Story Quest A Strange and Friendless Road.

If all tasks are completed, open the quest log and in the Archon Quests section, find the quest A Night Bird Falls Upon the Curtain. Click Track.

What Achievements Can Be Obtained by Completing the Archon Quest Inversion of Genesis

In total, you can get five unique achievements by completing the quest chain:

  1. The Riddle of Tatarasuna — Explore Tatarasuna's past in Irminsul.
  2. Echoes of History — Learn about the consequences of the Storyteller's intrusion into Irminsul.
  3. Parinama: Foxes, Kitten, Bird, and Monster — Solve Nahida's riddle and learn about the Storyteller's past.
  4. I, But Not I — Defeat the Everlasting Lord of Arcane Wisdom in memories.
  5. Inversion of Genesis — Complete the Inversion of Genesis chapter.

A Night Bird Falls Upon the Curtain

Teleport to Sumeru City and watch the lengthy cutscene, after which a new chapter of the story will begin.

Descend and talk to the two scholars you saw in the video. One of the men will inquire about the events in Tatarasuna and tell some details about what happened. The hero will begin to suspect that Kabukimono is the Storyteller.

Read the scholars' book and draft, after which the friends will step back and notice a strange shadow. Follow it to the Surasthana Sanctuary.

This is how you will meet Scaramouche and Nahida. After a while, the goddess will send you to Irminsul.

Move forward a bit and talk to the guy. Then you will need to constantly follow the Storyteller until you reach the giant tree. If you turn back, you will find yourself in the previous projection. To reach it again, follow the sprouts.

The Storyteller will dive into his consciousness, and you will only have to observe what he sees. When the scene ends, you will receive the achievement The Riddle of Tatarasuna.

After this, you will have to wait a bit. You can wander around the tree or simply idle for about a minute. Scaramouche will start talking to the hero on his own. Soon, Nahida will say that some invisible force is stopping her. You will find yourself back in Sumeru City.

Note: if you have unlocked Nahida's Story Quest Lady of Wisdom. Act 1 and have not completed the first quest Dream of Awakening, you will not be able to continue this quest. Return to completing Nahida's quest.

Rewards:

  • Adventure EXP (1000);
  • Mora (44,000);
  • Hero's Wit (4);
  • Mystic Enhancement Ore (8).

The Dance of Destruction

Use fast travel to Inazuma Island and talk to the owner of the Amenoma Forge, Togo. He is located near the entrance to the city.

From the conversation with him, you will learn many interesting details about Scaramouche. After the conversation, head to the Yashiro Commission at the Kamisato Estate, located in the south of the island.

Upon arrival, you will be approached by a representative of the commission, Hirotatsu, who will escort the hero to an elderly woman named Furuta.

Now you need to head to Tatarasuna Island and find important clues. It is located to the west of Inazuma Island.

Follow the marker to find the great inventor, Xavier. Just talk to him; no tasks need to be completed. At the end of the scene, you will receive the achievement Echoes of History.

Rewards:

  • Adventure EXP (500);
  • Hero's Wit (2);
  • Mora (22,000);
  • Mystic Enhancement Ore (4).

Kabukimono's Finale

Teleport to Sumeru City and return to the Surasthana Sanctuary. Approaching the Sanctuary, you will be noticed by two scholars you met at the beginning of the story. Akaba will give the hero the last part of his analysis of possible historical events in the Tatarasuna region. Sawada will also not stand aside and will hand over the book Island of Black Clouds.

When reading these manuscripts, you will notice that the content has changed due to the removal of information in Irminsul.

Enter the Sanctuary and talk to Nahida, and gather all parts of the story you managed to collect into one narrative.

Nahida will confirm this story by showing a record from her personal data collection. This record is an ancient tale that you will be able to see for yourself.

After the conversation with Nahida, the quest will be completed, and you will receive the achievement Parinama: The Foxes, the Kitten, the Bird, and the Monster.

Leave the Sanctuary and go down to the lower city. You need to reach the Grand Bazaar.

When you arrive at the marked area on the map, watch the merchant's dialogue with the Wanderer. Follow the guy and talk to him. After the conversation, return to the bazaar to the fruit stall, and then to the Surasthana Sanctuary.

Nahida will offer the Wanderer to show memories that are currently inaccessible to him. You will need to accompany him to the domain Drifting Memories.

Domain Drifting Memories

Watch the introductory scene, then find the crack in the floor and jump down.

In the next room before descending, you will see a common chest. Inspect it.

If you missed it, activate the lever on the wooden column to lower the ladder.

Continue following the marker. In the corridor, there is another common chest. Be careful: the floor it is on is electrified.

After two more memories, you will find yourself in an arena with several Fatui followers. Defeat them and move to the next room. Enemies will also be waiting here.

Watch a few more cutscenes with various characters, then you will find yourself in an arena with the Everlasting Lord of Arcane Wisdom. Only the Wanderer will be available as a playable character.

Use normal attacks, elemental skill, and elemental burst to deal with the enemy. This battle is a good chance to try out the new playable character in Genshin Impact. You can also learn about his strengths and weaknesses in our special guide.

When the boss is defeated, you will receive the achievement I, but Not I.

How to Change the Wanderer's Name

When you leave the dungeon and talk to the Wanderer, he will allow you to change his name. A special item called Feather of Naming is used for this. Note that the name can be changed a limited number of times. We also recommend refraining from using offensive inscriptions and other words that violate the game's User Agreement.

Like Morning Dew

Return to the resting place on the Treasure Street and watch another small scene, after which the chapter will be completed. You will receive valuable rewards and the achievement Inversion of Being.
