Knowledge of key locations and places in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is always the key to success. In an emergency situation, when quick orientation is required, you will not be able to get lost or disoriented. For this purpose, interactive maps have been developed that provide access to all important areas, biomes, and items in the game. In this guide, we will look at several available interactive maps and also talk about the locations in more detail.
The game features an extensive map on which players can easily get lost. It is significantly larger than the maps in previous games in the series. Although procedural generation of maps has become popular in the industry, the developers paid special attention to the manual detailing of each location. The game features various biomes, including gloomy forests and lifeless swamps, as well as dilapidated Soviet-era infrastructure. For greater convenience, we offer you to familiarize yourself with the currently available interactive maps:
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl boasts a map significantly larger than those in the original trilogy. Although the exact sizes of the maps from previous games are not always known, their total area is estimated to be about 7.5 square kilometers. In contrast, Stalker 2 offers a vast open world covering more than 64 square kilometers. This impressive increase is almost eight times larger than the area of all the maps in the original trilogy combined.
Unlike some open-world games where map sizes increase due to empty areas or inaccessible objects, the entire Stalker map is designed so that players can explore and find key locations. This ensures the significance of each location, building, and item, as they all play a role in the development of the game's storyline.
Beds perform several important functions: they allow players to restore health, serve as save points, help create a survival atmosphere, and can be interaction points with NPCs, which collectively adds realism and depth to the gameplay. Currently, you can find six beds:
Use save points to organize your game time, allowing yourself to take a break from intense exploration or making important decisions.
In the Zone, where there is a constant threat from anomalies, mutants, and other stalkers, medical points become a necessary element for maintaining the character's combat readiness. They allow players to heal wounds, restore health with medications, which is critically important for continuing the journey and completing quests. The locations of four out of five points are near the beds:
Traders provide players with the opportunity to exchange trophies, artifacts, and loot for money or more useful items — weapons, armor, and resources. Sometimes, they offer rare items that are not available in usual places and become sources of information about events in the Zone, as well as places for completing side quests. You can find twelve traders in these locations:
Technicians are engaged in the repair of weapons, armor, and other items, which is necessary for maintaining combat characteristics in good condition. In the conditions of the Zone, where resources are limited, and equipment wears out quickly, technicians become indispensable allies, allowing you to extend the life of equipment and increase its efficiency. All five technicians are in the same places as the doctors:
