Stalker 2 Guide: Should You Kill Kvashka

During the side quest A Sigh of Hope in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, players will have to complete several tasks, one of which is to eliminate a zombified stalker. In this guide, we will discuss whether you should kill the zombie known as Kvashka and what rewards await you depending on your choice.

How to Reach Kvashka

The site features a guide on completing this side quest in Stalker 2, where we have already explained in detail how to get to the roof where the zombie is located. If you haven't read it yet, follow these steps:

  1. Climb onto the first roof using the ladders on the sides of the yellow gates.
  2. In the building on the left, you will find a ladder — enter and climb it.

Inside the building, climb the ladder on the left, then walk along the pipes and climb onto the second roof. After circling the structure, you will find a tower on the roof to the right. Climbing it will give you a view of the zombified stalker known as Kvashka.

Kill or Spare Kvashka

If you decide to eliminate Kvashka, it's best to do so from the tower. Otherwise, if you descend, Kvashka will immediately attack the hero — you will have to fight. After you return to the professor and tell him about the successfully completed task and the stalker's death, he will reward you with an upgraded Bear scanner. The same result awaits you if you decide to spare the zombie — the professor will still give you the scanner as a token of gratitude for completing the quest.

However, if you decide to spare Kvashka, after returning and talking to the technician known as Horse, he will thank you for your mercy. As a reward, you will receive 3509 coupons.

Based on the above, it can be concluded that the professor doesn't care about the stalker's life, as the reward remains the same regardless of your actions. Therefore, we recommend not killing Kvashka to receive an additional 3509 coupons.
