How to Solve the The Sacred Wounds Puzzle

This story puzzle becomes available during your exploration of the Vatican dungeons. It's important to note that you'll need a bottle of wine from Father Antonio to solve it. When you reach a small room with a painting of Jesus Christ on the wall, use the wine on the chalice in front of the image. At this point, five levers will appear on the painting.

Each lever corresponds to a part of the saint's body: hands, feet, and rib. Four slots marked with Roman numerals are available for movement. Players need to correctly set the values for each lever to solve this puzzle.

Left Hand

Looking around, you'll notice two similar chalices nearby, as well as two more passages to the right and left. To understand how to correctly set the levers, simply use the wine bottle on the chalices near other images.

We are now interested in the painting to the left of the central image with the levers. Use the bottle and reveal number II.

Right Hand

Enter the room on the left and examine the image of Christ with bread in his right hand. If you apply wine to the chalice, Roman numeral II will appear.

Rib

When the grate behind the main character closes upon entering the previous room, head through the narrow tunnel to the statue of the spearman. Use the wine to discover that opposite Jesus' ribs you need to set Roman numeral III.

Right Leg

To the right of the main fresco is a chalice highlighting the deity's right leg. Applying wine, you'll find that this lever fits Roman numeral III.

Left Leg

Squeeze through a small gap in the wall and reach the last chalice. If you apply the wine bottle, you'll see number IV.

Correct Combination

  • Left Hand — II
  • Right Hand — II
  • Rib — III
  • Right Leg — III
  • Left Leg — IV
