Ubisoft releases free-to-play shooter XDefiant
After numerous delays, Ubisoft has finally released XDefiant — a multiplayer first-person shooter in the spirit of Call of Duty. The game is available on PC (via Ubisoft Connect), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
The main feature of the shooter is the heroes, divided into factions from other Ubisoft universes. Players can play as Third Echelon operatives from Splinter Cell, Cleaners from The Division, Ghosts from Ghost Recon, Dedsec from Watch Dogs, or Libertad from Far Cry 6.
At launch, the game offers 14 maps and 5 modes. Every three months, the developers will launch a new season with an additional faction, weapons, maps, and a battle pass.
It is worth noting that on the first day of XDefiant, many players complained about problems with matchmaking. The developers have promised to fix the issues.
