Bethesda veteran: «TES 6 is unlikely to live up to gamers' expectations»
Former Bethesda developer Bruce Nesmith, who previously worked on the Fallout and Starfield games, expressed his opinion on the upcoming The Elder Scrolls 6. He is not sure that gamers will be thrilled with the new part.
In his recent interview with the Kiwi Talkz channel, Bruce Nesmith touched on the topic of the sequel to The Elder Scrolls. According to him, everything comes down to the expectations of fans — and they are so high that the game is unlikely to be able to meet them. The developer is sure that gamers will certainly compare the sixth part with all the games in the series that came out before it, primarily with TES 5: Skyrim. He cited Fallout 4 and 76 as an example, as well as Starfield, which faced the same problem.
Bruce Nesmith himself has no doubt that TES 6 will be an «amazing game.» In his opinion, Bethesda developers should not adjust to player expectations and Metacritic scores, but set the bar themselves.
The Elder Scrolls 6 has been in active development since last year — according to some reports, the game will be released no earlier than 2028. The project uses the Creation Engine 2, which was first used to create Starfield. Bethesda recently announced that an early build of the game is ready.
