Elder Scrolls 6 — the next chapter in the iconic series of adventure role-playing games The Elder Scrolls. The project is currently in pre-production, developed by Bethesda Game Studios, the recognized developers who previously released TES 5: Skyrim and Fallout 4. The events of the new game may take place in the northwestern province of Tamriel — High Rock, where you can enjoy picturesque mountainous locations and visit the cities of Northpoint, Evermoor, Orsinium, Daggerfall, and many others.
Genre and release date
The Elder Scrolls 6 is a single-player role-playing game with action elements in a large, open world. It is currently in pre-production by Bethesda, with development set to begin after the release of the space opera Starfield (later in 2020) for next-gen consoles and PC.
Background of the game world
The sixth numbered installment of the Elder Scrolls series takes place in the world of Nirn — a fictional planet in the Elder Scrolls game universe, also known as the "mortal plane." There is currently no information about a specific region.
Most likely, Bethesda will continue to tell the story of Tamriel, the largest continent of the planet. This makes sense, given the multitude of races, classes, guilds, professions, and political entities, providing a rich ground for creating and revealing any conflict.
In that case, it is most likely that the action will take place in High Rock — a hilly and rocky northwestern region of Tamriel.
Its indigenous population consists of Bretons, a human race with elven blood, as well as Orcs, who own the central provinces and the citadel of Orsinium. Nords from northern Skyrim and Reachmen — witch sorcerers of High Rock — can also be found in the province. Imperials from Cyrodiil may send an expeditionary force to regain control of the province.
There are also two other possibilities. The first is Hammerfell, a neighboring province to High Rock (or they may both be included). The design of the game world shown in the trailer supports this version. The second option is that the events of TES 6 will unfold on the continent neighboring Tamriel — Akavir. In that case, Bethesda would have complete freedom to showcase new races, locations, events, and significantly expand the game universe.
Plot
Details of the plot of The Elder Scrolls 6 are still unknown. According to Todd Howard , the lead game designer at Bethesda, the game will have a plot. Considering that the series is moving forward in the in-game chronology, it can be expected that the events of TES 6 will begin several centuries after the events of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.
"Ancient scrolls" play an important role in the series, predicting the future. Thus, the events of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion were predicted in the "prophecy of the Gray Cowl of Nocturnal," and the events of Skyrim were in the "prophecy of the Dragonborn." A scroll predicting the events of The Elder Scrolls 6 has not yet been found, but it may appear as an Easter egg in The Elder Scrolls Online or The Elder Scrolls: Blades.
Characters, races, and classes
The character of The Elder Scrolls 6 will be another prisoner sentenced to death, who finds himself in the right place at the right time. Gaining freedom and an important quest to save the world, if the action takes place in High Rock, he will have to balance the interests of the Breton Kingdoms, Orcs, Empire, and Aldmeri Dominion. Or take one side.
It is clear that the choice between the races of Tamriel and character classes will remain — from humans and elves to khajiit and argonians, from mages and hunters to soldiers and thieves.
Single player
Details about the single-player mode of The Elder Scrolls 6 are still unknown. According to Todd Howard, the game will be single-player.
Multiplayer game
It can be said right away that there will be no multiplayer in The Elder Scrolls 6, as ZeniMax is developing the MMO The Elder Scrolls Online. It enjoys well-deserved success among players due to a large amount of PvE and PvP content, numerous races, full character progression, and many regions of Tamriel.
Important features:
- It is stated that TES 6 is being developed on a new engine and will provide players with high-quality graphics with a new animation system, current generation consoles may not be able to handle it.
