The first patch for the Silent Hill 2 remake improved optimization and fixed some bosses
Despite its success, the Silent Hill 2 remake could not boast good performance and flawless gameplay at release. Developers from Bloober Team took on the fix and have already released the first patch.
The update focused mainly on optimization and bug fixes. The developers reduced the number of crashes on the latest version of NVIDIA DLSS, fixed Abstract Daddy and the fight with the final boss, removed the error due to which the ending with the UFO did not start, and also added support for AMD FSR 3.1.1 and improved performance on Steam Deck.
Other fixes added with the patch:
- Removed getting stuck in the window of Neely's bar;
- In the Blue Creek apartments, you can no longer climb onto the balcony;
- James no longer falls under the map near Brookhaven Hospital;
- Fixed the passage of the Labyrinth;
- Fixed getting stuck in one of the hotel corridors;
- James received more natural animations for changing weapons;
- Fixed some puzzles that were not working correctly.
A full list of all the changes can be found on the game's Steam page.
The developers of the Silent Hill 2 remake recently announced that they are ready to take on other games in the series if Konami offers them. In the meantime, players are busy modifying the PC version — now the horror can be played with a fixed camera.
