The new Witcher by Andrzej Sapkowski features the Viper School, invented by CD Projekt RED
Yesterday, a new book by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski about the Witcher universe debuted. The work became a pleasant gift for both fans of the literary saga and games — the author canonized one of the witcher schools The Witcher.
The GRYOnline portal published a review of the novel Raven's Crossing about 18-year-old Geralt of Rivia, who has just left Kaer Morhen. According to the plot, the young witcher encounters his first monster, which is a deserter trying to take a girl by force. Geralt kills him, but almost becomes a victim of justice himself. The witcher Preston Holt from the Viper School comes to his aid, becoming the new mentor of the young monster hunter.
It is noteworthy that the Viper School never appeared in the book canon — it was invented by the developers of CD Projekt RED for The Witcher 2. Its most prominent representative in the games was Letho of Gulet. And it seems that Andrzej Sapkowski to some extent acknowledged the influence of the studio on his Witcher saga.
Judging by the review, Raven's Crossing paints over some blank spots in the history of the world of Neverland. For example, part of the plot is dedicated to the defeat in Kaer Morhen, when enraged peasants stormed the witcher fortress.
Recall that yesterday new details about the development of The Witcher 4 appeared. CD Projekt RED studio announced that the game will be larger in scale than the previous parts, and the marketing campaign will take at least a year.
