Andrzej Sapkowski Reveals Geralt's Age in New Witcher Book
Recently, Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski delighted fans of The Witcher with a new book. The novel Raven revealed an unexpected detail about Geralt — it turns out that the witcher is not as old as many fans thought.
Many assumed that the monster hunter could be about 90 years old. But, as the Redanian Intelligence portal found out, at the time of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the witcher was only 61 years old. The fact that the events of Raven's Crossing with 18-year-old Geralt officially take place in 1229 helped to calculate the exact age. Since the story of the latest game at the moment touches on 1272, calculating the witcher's years is not so difficult. However, Vesemir's phrase about Geralt's age in The Witcher 3 now looks strange.
It should be noted that in the Netflix series, the witcher's birth date is 1160. So in the adaptation, the character is older than his book prototype by half a century. As for Yennefer, her age according to the book canon at the time of The Witcher 3 is 99 years old.
Recall that in Raven's Crossing, the witcher's Viper School, which was only in the CD Projekt RED games, officially appeared. Meanwhile, the developers from CDPR are actively promoting the PR campaign for the new part about Ciri, sharing a mysterious message.
