Free Gothic 1 Remake Demo Now Available on Steam

A free demo for the Gothic 1 Remake, titled ×Nyras Prologue×, has landed on Steam. Developers have also released a trailer showcasing gameplay from the demo.

Released in conjunction with the Steam Next Fest: February 2025 Edition, Nyras Prologue is a standalone prologue to the main game. Instead of playing as the Nameless Hero (the protagonist of the Gothic series), players will take on the role of Nyras, a new prisoner arriving in the colony. The demo allows players to explore the starting areas, check out the updated graphics and combat system, and familiarize themselves with the core gameplay mechanics. The demo weighs in at around 10 GB and will be available until March 3rd.

Minimum system requirements include an Intel Core i7-7700K or AMD Ryzen 5 1600X CPU, an AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT or NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 GPU, and 16 GB of RAM.

Gothic 1 Remake is scheduled for release before the end of 2025 on PC (Steam and GOG), PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
