Dual Fusion unveiled — a laptop that transforms into a console with a single move

Taiwanese company Wistron has introduced a concept that could redefine hybrid devices. Their new creation, Dual Fusion, isn’t just a laptop — it's a true "Swiss Army knife" for gamers. Imagine this: you're working on a project, then you detach the bottom part of the chassis, flip the screen 180 degrees, and voilà — you’ve got a portable console in your hands.
Wistron's engineers were likely inspired by Pimp My Ride, where ordinary cars are transformed into neon-lit monsters. It’s a similar story here: a modest laptop has been "pimped" into a hybrid where the rear wheels have been swapped for a detachable gamepad with a display. The console itself draws power from the main device, as it lacks its own processor. An interesting detail: when the module is attached to the laptop, the buttons "hide," forming a sleek panel. And if you get tired of shooting monsters, you can flip the console screen back into a touchpad — perfect for pretending you're busy working on Excel spreadsheets.
Despite winning the IF Design Award 2025, Dual Fusion remains a concept for now. Wistron openly admits that the device will only hit the shelves if a company is bold enough to take the risk. "It’s like offering the world a car with wings — everyone’s impressed, but no one’s in a hurry to take off," insiders joke.
