Far Cry 6: Where to Find All Cryptograms and Chests

In Far Cry 6, just as in projects from other series, Ubisoft developers have added a huge number of various collectible items, among which are cryptograms. The game does not provide any hints on the map for them, so collecting all items will be very difficult. It will require thoroughly exploring the entire location. For a simplified search, refer to our guide, in which we will detail the location of all cryptograms.

Across Yara, there are 15 chests that require collecting 30 cryptograms to open. By collecting items from each chest, the player will receive the corresponding in-game achievement «Brain Warm-up».

Near each chest, there are 2 cryptograms located at a close distance. Collect both and gain the ability to access the chest and take its contents. Each of these chests contains high-quality armor. You cannot find out their locations using in-game currency, as with roosters and USB drives. The hero must independently determine the chest locations by the blue paintings on buildings and find the cryptograms to open it.

As you approach each chest, the player will hear a characteristic ringing, indicating the direction to go. Unlike the chests (marked with a white chest) cryptograms are not shown on the mini-map, however, they are always very close in the same area.

Just like when collecting roosters and flashcards, the player can track all previously found cryptograms. This will help easily identify missed items with the help of our guide. To do this, follow these steps:

It is recommended to first clear the territory of all anti-aircraft installations, as this will help activate airdrops at bases and use various aircraft. This will allow faster access to all indicated points.

Note that the exact location of the chests and cryptograms is marked on the screenshots with the standard game character icon (blue or white depending on the current state of the marker). After collecting two cryptograms, we return to the chest and take the reward. To do this, first press the button to hack the chest, and then wait some time while the storage with the reward opens.

The first chest is located to the northwest of the city of Armonia on the island of Santuario.

Jump onto the roof of the building here and grab the cryptogram «#06 — Royal Palm» on the brick structure next to the chair.

Walk around the house to the right and find a small metal structure, vaguely resembling a tunnel. Crouch and make your way to the end. Inside, you'll find the cryptogram «#1 — Yara Flag».

This box is located on a tower with a water tank next to the houses of the «El Dorado» resort. Parachute from the Cortina weather station and fly to the required location. If you can't climb the tower right away, you can use the «Cat».

Head south and make your way to the beach. The cryptogram «#03 — Pig» is hidden on the far southwestern islet on a rock with blue paintings.

The cryptogram «#22 — Dog» is located at the southernmost point of this beach. Walk around the small rock and collect the collectible item.

Head to the small town of Poesia in the west of Madrugada, which is located across the strait from the Tempestad lighthouse. The chest is near a small house on the dock.

Cross the strait on any vessel and climb onto the rocks on the western side. They are located slightly north of the lighthouse. On a small platform, we find the cryptogram «#10 — Rooster».

Get back into the vessel and move along the cliffs following the blue markings. Stop near a pole with a wooden plank attached and disembark. Use the «Cat» and collect the collectible cryptogram «#25 — Yara Libre»

Move to the city of Verdera, located in the region of Losania. Head north and climb onto the house with the billboard. To do this, you need to hook onto the awning in front of the building and climb up the ladder behind the billboard.

Jump onto the neighboring house with blue paintings and cloths. Move straight and climb onto the house with a small water tank. The cryptogram «#16 — Trompo» is located there.

Continue along the roofs. Use the blue wooden bridges and fabric platforms. Climb onto the roof of the house with another tank and find the cryptogram «#19 — Dawnflower Orchid».

Head to the northern dock in the Aguas Lindas region. You can parachute from the checkpoint at Ida's refuge and glide to the location using a wingsuit. The chest is located on the terrace of the farthest tall house. Use the ladder to climb up to the storage.

Summon a vehicle at the dock and make your way to the opposite island. Climb up the ledges and find the cryptogram «#28 — Yaran Queen Butterfly».

Use the watercraft again and head to the neighboring island. Stop on the western side near the bells and the pole with a wooden plank. Dive into the water and descend to the bottom to retrieve the cryptogram «#12 — Shark».

Travel to the town of Ferosa, located near the Huda Verde river in the Balaceras region. Head to the southern part of the settlement to the junkyard. The storage is located near a small house.

Both cryptograms are hidden very close to the chest, but they are behind wooden pallets that need to be broken. The cryptogram «#23 — Libertad Emblem» is located in a container near a large pile of garbage. Break the wooden plank and crawl through the hole in the wall.

The cryptogram «#04 — Starfish» is hidden in an old, destroyed car located next to a standalone booth. Break the pallet and retrieve the collectible item inside the car.

The chest is located to the northwest of the Segunda settlement in a large field with tall grass. It is on a high tower, which can be climbed using a ladder.

Both cryptograms are within a 10-meter radius of the chest. Both collectible items are located in small underground rooms. Break the pallets covering the holes and retrieve the cryptograms «#13 — Cat» (located in a flooded room) and «#29 — Soursop».

As a tip, pay attention to the fuel barrels located near these trenches. You can also explode the fuel containers to clear the passage.

This chest is located at the base of a flooded tower in the Novenarmas region, just north of the «Dulce» sugar factory.

Climb the ladder here and use the «Grapple» to ascend the tower. Cross over the fence to the other side of the building. Climb from the outside to one tier higher using vines and again use the hook inside the structure. Once you reach the topmost section, retrieve the cryptogram «#09 — Tarantula».

Find the tower on the western part of the flooded area and use the wingsuit to fly to the top tier of the building. Inside, you will find the cryptogram «#26 — Boxing Gloves».

Head to the Ruben settlement, located on the eastern shore in the Barrial area, not far from Tormentoso Bay. The chest is located on the south side of the town by the road.

We head east to the pier and discover the cryptogram «#20 — Sapote» under a wooden bridge.

We move south from the chest and find a cave. It can be accessed either through an open passage from the mountain or by blowing up the blockage with a grenade or mine, and then we need to make our way inside. On the wooden bridge, we find the cryptogram «#17 — Coin».

We parachute into the «Guaracha» hideout in the La Joya area and fly north to the nearest shore. Here we find the «Pride of the People» clinic, located to the right across the road from the «Sendrovsky» residential complex. The chest is located on the hospital roof.

We head to the southern building of the «Sendrovsky» residential complex and climb to the roof using the «Grapple». Use the zipline and slide to the northern building. To the right of the zipline, we retrieve the cryptogram «#18 — Cigar».

We use a parachute or wingsuit and fly to the building across the street. We approach it from the Agua Bay side and use the scaffolding to climb to the roof. Near the metal barrels, we find the cryptogram «#21 — Croco-Taxi».

We head to the settlement of Barriga. If it's not unlocked, we parachute in at the checkpoint on the Arros Plain and fly south through the Cauto-de-Paso Swamp. The chest is located on the dock near a small fishing hut.

Both cryptograms are located near huts on stilts, so we proceed by water or air transport to the points indicated in the screenshots. The cryptogram «#30 — Domino» is found on the western shore of the swamp.

We head north along the coast. We find the cryptogram «#14 — Horse» near a perch fishing spot on a fishing hut.

We parachute into the city of Barriga and, using a wingsuit, fly south to Lake Igado. We reach the Casa Marrakin ranch. We climb onto the roof of the house and find the chest.

We get on any vehicle and follow along the western coast. We find a wooden pen and break the entrance door. Inside, we find the cryptogram «#07 — El Cocodrilo».

We move to the southern coast of the lake. We find a wooden farm and in a small passage, we retrieve the cryptogram «#27 — Tocororo».

We head to the eastern coast in the town of Concepcion. We climb onto the roof of a house in the central part of the settlement to discover the chest. For this, it's necessary to climb onto the neighboring building using the «Grapple» and slide down the rope to the storage.

We jump to the neighboring building and descend into the courtyard. In a covered market stall, we find the cryptogram «#05 — Machete».

Immediately, we go up the stairs and move to the other side of the street. We climb onto the roof next to the workbench and retrieve the cryptogram «#24 — Trophy».

We head to Esperanza and follow to the southern edge of the city. For this, we teleport to the San Caetano shelter, get on a vehicle, and reach the storage located in the backyard behind the house.

Here we use the «Grapple» and climb onto the roof of the building. We move further and jump onto the neighboring building. At the end of the roof, we find the cryptogram «#08 — Clasico Car». As a hint, pay attention to the blue arrow showing the direction of movement.

We use the rope and slide down to the next house. We climb onto the roof using vines and retrieve the cryptogram «#15 — Flamingo».

The last chest is located a few meters from the La Divinidad cathedral. If the point is not yet captured, then we move to the Santa Leticia square and drive to the marker by car. We use the hook and climb onto the roof to the storage.

We climb up the red stairs to the very top of the building adjacent to the cathedral. We jump to the neighboring structure and grab onto the vine. On the door, we find the cryptogram «#02 — La Guitarra».

We cross over to the central section of the cathedral. We move only across the balconies. We go through the large wooden doors onto the open balcony. We retrieve the last cryptogram «#11 — Rum». It is also possible to jump onto it from the building opposite, but it is much easier to reach the collectible item through the cathedral.
