How to Get Out of the Swamp in Stalker 2: Safe Route

While completing the story quest Extreme Simplicity in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, you will not only need to obtain a psi-protection suit but also support one of the active factions. During this quest, you will find yourself in one of the most dangerous and unpleasant locations in the game — the «Swamp“. This place is literally teeming with anomalies, mutants, and other dangers, where every step could be your last. After you disable the last psi-beacon in the Second Outpost location, the main character will be attacked by a pack of boars. To effectively defend yourself, it is recommended to use a shotgun, such as the M860 Cracker, which can take down mutants with a few accurate shots.

However, keep in mind that other dangerous creatures will also attack you in this area. Therefore, the best strategy is to ignore the attacks and not waste time on battles. Following the yellow marker on the map, you will face the first challenge — floating shards in the air.

Avoiding them is quite simple if you use bolts. When you reach the hut, the marker on the map will update, and you will need to get to the Clear Sky base. There will be no obstacles on your way, so just run there and watch the cutscene.

After grabbing the scanner, you will need to cover a distance of over one kilometer. Do not look for alternative routes, as this can lead to serious difficulties and failures. Instead, follow the same path you came by. First, go through the hut, and then head towards the ”Old Church» location.

The swamp is a treacherous area where even in the most unexpected places, which seemed safe, you can drown. To determine how deep the swamp is at a certain point, pay attention to the vegetation. If you see small bushes growing directly from the swamp, it means that you can safely pass through that area.

From the church, follow the path on the left until you reach a fork. Here, stick strictly to the right side and continue moving.

When you approach the hill, the escape task will be considered complete, and you can continue with the mission.
