How to Solve the Fountain Puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle

Unlock the secrets of the fountain puzzle in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle with this comprehensive guide. Before delving into the mysteries of the fountain, make sure to complete all side activities, as venturing into the dungeon will prevent your return to the Vatican for some time. Follow our step-by-step instructions to solve both parts of the puzzle and progress through the main storyline.

How to Solve the Fountain Puzzle

The next puzzle is necessary for progressing through the main storyline. However, if you solve it and descend into the dungeon, you won't be able to return to the Vatican for some time. Therefore, we recommend completing all side activities before you start exploring the fountain and solving the related puzzles.

To access the building with the fountain, simply inspect the suitcase located to the left of the entrance and take the key. Head to the upper floors and exit onto the balcony, from where you can jump onto the scaffolding. Here, you'll discover an important plot element — a fragment of a statue.

After the cutscene, return to the scaffolding and place the statue piece in its spot, then rotate it. This action will unlock access to a lever that allows you to rotate the statue. Ensure both dragons are facing each other.

Approach the chain at the main fountain statue and interact with it. Then descend to your new acquaintance and carefully examine the lever. Use it to start solving the first puzzle.

How to Solve the First Puzzle

The task here is simple. First, move the pedestal with the boy to the left, then use the whip on the chain to fill the bucket with water. After that, move the statue of the man to the statue of the child. If all actions are done correctly, return to the lever under the fountain and open the second part of the puzzle.

How to Solve the Second Puzzle

The next puzzle presents a more complex challenge but is still solvable. In the middle section of the rotating plates, you'll notice two wooden boards. Rotate the bottom plate so that the upper board falls down.

It's crucial to avoid mistakes: do not move the remaining board to the large and medium plates. If this happens, you'll need to load the game from the last checkpoint, as solving the puzzle requires moving the central circle separately from the outer one.

First, position the outer plate so that there is a passage on the right and left of the boat.

Then, rotate the central plate, opening a passage for the boat.

Finally, move the inner circle so that the wooden board falls down, wedging the central and outer plates but freeing the path for the boat.

Don't forget to interact with the chain on the right side to set the boat in motion and open the passage.
