Rumor has it that a new Xbox console may be released as early as 2026

A rumor has surfaced online about a new Xbox console, which, according to insider TheGhostOfHope, will be released in 2026 and might be called Xbox Prime (possibly a codename). Naturally, Microsoft has not commented on this information.
Insider TheGhostOfHope primarily focuses on leaks related to the Call of Duty series. For instance, he mentioned that a new game in the series from Infinity Ward (presumably Modern Warfare 4) will be available on the new Xbox on launch day.
Take this with a huge grain of salt: I'm hearing that the next Xbox console is still coming in 2026 and will be called Xbox Prime. Still unclear if it's a code name or the actual name. I've heard Infinity Ward's next COD is still being considered a day one release for this.
Meanwhile, Windows Central editor Jez Corden believes that the rumor about the new Xbox launching in 2026 is not accurate.
As a reminder, in November, Xbox head Phil Spencer confirmed the development of a portable Xbox.
