The creators of Outer Wilds, one of the most beloved sci-fi games in recent memory, have officially begun work on their next project. Mobius Digital quietly shared the news not in a big press release, but in the patch notes for the game’s 16th update.
As mentioned before, there are no more major updates planned for Outer Wilds or Echoes of the Eye because we are hard at work on our next game.
The studio added that the new title is still in early development, so fans shouldn’t expect any major updates for the next couple of years.
The patch itself fixed a few bugs and improved spaceship flight mechanics. The update is already live on PC and will roll out to consoles soon.
Outer Wilds is a space exploration adventure about a lone traveler caught in a time loop. It holds a 95% positive rating on Steam and was named Game of the Year 2019 by Giant Bomb, Polygon, Eurogamer, and The Guardian.
