Engine.ini changes for Unreal Engine aimed at removing most stutters, improving performance and stability, reducing input latency, and enhancing image clarity — all with no loss in visual quality.
The main goal is to include as many optimizations as possible (for CPU/GPU/RAM/SSD) to eliminate most stuttering, boost performance, reduce input latency, and improve image clarity (for example, by optimizing film grain, motion blur, removing chromatic aberration, as well as optimizing DLSS/FSR upscaling and anti-aliasing, and reducing ghosting and shimmering) — all without any visual loss or introducing bugs or crashes.
What to choose between the VRR and No VRR mod variants:
- VRR stands for Variable Refresh Rate, which corresponds to G-Sync for NVIDIA or AMD Freesync for AMD. You need to make sure this feature is enabled both in the NVIDIA/AMD control panel and on the display itself (monitor/TV);
- If enabled in both places — use the VRR variant;
- If not — use the No VRR variant.
How to install:
- Launch the game at least once and close it, then download/extract this Engine.ini and place it in: %localappdata%\PIO\Saved\Config\Windows (press Win + R, enter the path above and press Enter to open the folder directly);
- Then right-click the file -> Properties -> make sure the "Read-Only" box is checked -> Apply/OK.
For Xbox PC version only:
- Place the file at: %localappdata%\PIO\Saved\Config\WinGDK (press Win + R, enter the path above and press Enter to open the folder directly);
- Then right-click the file -> Properties -> make sure the "Read-Only" box is checked -> Apply/OK (to uninstall — simply delete the modified Engine.ini, the game will create a default file on next launch).
