Pixel games
Many games, especially those made by small indie studios, are made in pixel graphics, which gives them a special appearance and reminds seasoned gamers of the times of the last century when games were just beginning to emerge. They are specifically designed with an emphasis on 8-bit or 16-bit graphics, this usually does not affect the gameplay.
Mostly pixel games are platformers or top-down action games. There are also turn-based roguelikes, as well as a huge variety of mobile games created by small studios.
The best pixel games are collected here, without reference to the year of release, genre or gameplay features.
