The operation to neutralize the New Army squad was successful. The helicopter, although damaged from many years of open storage, was dismantled for parts, and the former head of New Army intelligence surrendered without a fight. He revealed to the bunker leadership in the Warlow Valley many intriguing details, including about the "werewolves." It turns out that even during the existence of the New Army, reports of mysterious beings, vaguely resembling humans and capable of becoming invisible for a short time, were coming from various places. These creatures were encountered in underground structures and caves, and the further southeast into the Wastelands, the more reports there were from local residents about such beings. Once, New Army scouts delivered documents to headquarters from the office of an old military arsenal, which mentioned an operation called "Cleansing" and described actions to deliver special ammunition to the underground structures of the city of Ensfield. Among other things, instructions were given to avoid direct contact with the city's population and certain "infected subjects," who were attributed with "abilities for temporary disappearance" and "extremely aggressive behavior." It was also noted that due to the impossibility of delivering special ammunition to the area of the military hospital, an airstrike or artillery bombardment of the entire suburb of Ensfield was recommended. The head of intelligence suggested that the earthquake that tore Ensfield apart was man-made, and the military of the crumbling country were trying to destroy something dangerous, possibly werewolves, which had begun to appear near the military hospital. Scouts sent to Ensfield reported encounters with werewolves, meaning the hospital might have survived the earthquake. If an archive could be found in its ruins, it would become clear where the werewolves came from and how to counter them.

Using maps from the airbase, the bunker leadership determined the coordinates of the hospital. The reconnaissance sent by vehicles reported huge cracks in the ground in that area. By this time, the helicopter had already been repaired and was ready for flight. Our hero was also enlisted for the expedition to the hospital. The task was to find what remained of the hospital and locate the archive while assessing the threat level in the area.
