This is a flavour mod that greatly expands the crew name pool by adding ocean, dock, trash, and cursed maritime names. It adds variety without replacing vanilla behaviour, keeping name generation unpredictable and weird in the best way.

Features:

  • Hundreds of new names added;
  • Names are split across any/non-binary, male, female, and cursed pools;
  • Ocean, water, dockside, trash, mildew, and brine wordplay;
  • Dumb, cute, gross, and unsettling names;
  • One or two words only, safe characters only;
  • Preserves vanilla name selection logic.

Behaviour:

  • Vanilla names are never removed;
  • The game randomly chooses between vanilla and modded names;
  • If a vanilla name is chosen, the original game code runs;
  • If a modded name is chosen, it is injected cleanly;
  • No UI changes, no gameplay changes, no balance impact.

Notes:

  • Safe to add or remove mid-save;
  • Compatible with other mods;
  • Only affects name generation;
  • Suitable for sandbox, relaxed, or long-running saves;
  • Occasionally you’ll get names that sound like they crawled out of a wet crate.

How to launch:

  1. Install BepInEx 5 for Flotsam;
  2. Place morenames.dll in the bepinex/plugins/morenames/ folder;
  3. Launch the game.
