The action once again unfolds in the Valley of Mines on the island of Khorinis, where a magical barrier has turned the place of exile for criminals into an isolated state with its own laws, factions, and a constant struggle for power.

The remake carefully retains the key features of the classic — the freedom to explore, a vibrant open world, and a sense of danger at every turn. The inhabitants of the colony continue to live by their own schedule, and the surrounding world reacts to the hero's actions and the development of the conflict between camps. At the same time, the game has received completely updated graphics, a revamped combat system, expanded quests, and new opportunities for exploration, preserving the spirit of the original game while adapting it for modern players.
