This modification introduces an in-game configuration panel opened with the F9 key, allowing you to adjust field of view, camera distance, remove cutscene black bars on ultrawide monitors, and individually disable vignette, chromatic aberration, depth of field, lens flares, and bloom. All adjustments apply immediately without restarting, and the Ctrl and F9 shortcut lets you instantly compare visuals with the native look.
Key Features:
- Field of view adjustment from 50 to 130 with a default of 75, smoothly scaling across all combat modes while keeping cutscene framing intact.
- Camera distance tuning from minus 150 to plus 500 to bring the view closer or push it further away across all perspectives.
- Independent toggles to disable vignette darkening edges by up to 40 percent, chromatic aberration, depth of field blur, lens flares, and bloom.
- Ultrawide monitor support for 21 by 9 and 32 by 9 aspect ratios with automatic removal of black pillarboxing in cutscenes.
- Instant toggling between tweaked and native visuals using the Ctrl and F9 shortcut.
- Status line inside the panel displaying currently active settings.
- Restoration of native game values using the reset option on any setting row.
- Lightweight Lua script that avoids injecting hooks into the rendering pipeline.
Available Editions:
- The main Phantom Tweaks edition featuring the full in-game panel, requiring the UE4SS framework.
- The Lite edition operating without UE4SS, disabling post-processing effects via Engine.ini tweaks through automated install and uninstall batch scripts.
Installation:
- For the full version, install UE4SS into PBZ\platform\steam beside the PBZ.exe executable.
- Extract the modification archive into PBZ\platform\steam\ue4ss\Mods\PhantomTweaks.
- Launch the game and press F9 to open the menu.
- For the Lite edition, launch the game to the main menu once, exit, and run Install.bat to apply configurations to Engine.ini.
Menu Controls:
- The F9 key opens and closes the configuration panel.
- Up and Down arrow keys navigate between setting rows.
- Left and Right arrow keys alter values, with the Shift key accelerating changes.
- The Home key restores the native game setting for the highlighted row.
- The Ctrl and F9 combination toggles all active tweaks on or off simultaneously.
Compatibility and Notes:
- Full compatibility with HDR displays, DLSS upscaling, frame generation, and path tracing.
- Disabling vignette in Unreal Engine may simultaneously reduce film grain due to a shared tonemapper pass.
- If pressing F9 does nothing, check ue4ss\UE4SS.log for the PhantomTweaks line and verify that the loader files sit beside the main executable.
