This archive contains two files: "manymonsters" (by Terminator) — significantly increases the number of enemies, and "90Reduct" (by Trulight911) — reduces the experience gained by 90% (recommended for balancing purposes — to prevent your character from overleveling and to maintain your interest in the game).
Mod Features "Many Monsters":
1. Increases the number of monsters on all maps, including MapWork Maps (up to level 105).
2. You will encounter champions on each map.
3. Boss battles on each map after completing the starting location "Echo Pass".
4. Fights with bandit groups consisting of various class characters.
5. Limited number of health and mana potions dropped after defeating champions. Regular monsters only drop gear or gold upon defeat.
6. Contains a vendor for items from the "MapReworks mod" (mod author: Tiny)
7. Works in both single-player and multiplayer (more players = more monsters).
As a result, you will experience: increased difficulty, more kills, more loot, and greater enjoyment from gameplay.
Installation:
1. Unzip both files from the archive to \Users\*username*\Documents\My Games\Runic Games\Torchlight 2\mods
2. Open ModLauncher (located in the game installation folder) and check the box for the ManyMonsters mod in the list (as shown in the screenshot below). Do not check the "90Reduct" mod yet (this will need to be done later — see point 4 below).
3. Launch the game with the mod and start a new game by creating a new character (even though the author recommends starting with a fully equipped or completed character, I see no need for that — I am playing through the game for the first time and chose the "Engineer" class on the easiest difficulty and have already reached level 22 and continue to play).
Recommendations:
From the author: play with this mod not from scratch, but with a sufficiently equipped character or one that has completed the game, as the battles will be intense.
And my recommendations are as follows:
1. Game start and priorities when choosing gear. As I mentioned in point 3 of the instructions, I recommend starting the game from scratch — with a new character (if you have already played all characters, I suggest trying one of the classes in the "Drew's Class Pack" mod, especially since these classes will simplify gameplay with the ManyMonsters mod). To avoid difficulties when playing as a regular character with the ManyMonsters mod, it is advisable to start on the easiest difficulty (the first has an increased gold drop rate, while others vary in enemy strength, and you cannot change difficulty while playing on the same difficulty, only in online play — via LAN or the internet) and quickly equip items that increase health points (the more, the better). For example, if you play as an "Engineer" (only melee combat is available at the start until you unlock the ability to use the "Gun"), you will, like me, feel a strong need to increase your health level (I can't speak for other classes, but for a mage, it will likely be necessary to quickly raise both health and mana). The next priority (once you have enough health) is to ensure all resistances are at a sufficient level (my "Engineer" at level 20 already had all resistances no lower than "30" except for "physical" — which was "100"). Throughout the game (except at the beginning when you will be without money and good gear), collect only yellow items (if identified using an identification scroll — they usually sell for more than the scroll itself — I always use this for profit). If money is tight (I always found it insufficient for all possible needs) — collect only the most valuable items (skulls and gems). In the "Highlight" settings, uncheck all boxes except for "Stones" next to the "Normal", "Magic", and "Rare" lines. Uncheck "Rare" if you no longer need to search for the simplest items and items that can be bought from vendors (most items in stores are "rare", and by level 10 you will have enough money for any items).
2. Reduce the amount of experience gained. Upon reaching level 20, I recommend launching ModLauncher and activating the "90Reduct" mod and continuing the game with it (that is, playing with both mods — "More Monsters" and "90Reduct"). The latter reduces the experience gained by "90%". If you activate the "90Reduct" mod after level 20, you will overlevel — the game will become easy, which may cause you to lose interest. From my experience and that of others (playthroughs on YouTube), I learned that you reach level 20 with the "More Monsters" mod already in the "Emberite Mines" location, while without this mod in that location you would only be at level 15, meaning you will already be ahead of a normal playthrough by 5 levels, which personally made me feel the need to slow down leveling with the "90Reduct" mod (as monsters no longer pose a threat if you are well-equipped and know how to fight). It may make sense to slow down leveling later than level 20 — I don't know yet, as I haven't finished the game (still playing), but I already know that on YouTube, at the end of playthroughs from scratch in Torchlight 2, an average player can reach level 50-55.
In the comments under this topic, I will write what level I finished playing, whether it was worth slowing down the game later, and describe my impressions of playing as an "Engineer". Regarding the "Fame" parameter, you will also be overleveled — at level 22 I was already at the "Trendy" status, which gives points to main attributes and skill points with each level of status (you will definitely have enough, even considering the slowdown in experience gained with the "90Reduct"), but I did not limit "Fame" as it is not critical.
Compatibility with other mods: The monster increase mod is unlikely to be compatible with other global or private mods that adjust balance\monsters\experience — this can be read in the reviews of the mod.
Many Monsters":
(Echo Pass).
1. Распаковываете оба файла из архива в \Users\*имя пользователя*\Documents\My Games\Runic Games\Torchlight 2\mods
