I tried the Town to City demo, and it struck me right away that the buildings and characters aren’t really customizable. It’s not like The Sims, where you can build your own little story with details to your characters and their homes, relationships and jobs and so on over time. That’s a big downside for me because I was hoping for a city where I could gradually remove the male characters, leaving only female ones. The change buildings and businesses to be vegan and not organized around pronatalist/ growth-driven ideals and then some resources are freely available.

With The Sims, I had way more freedom to experiment another reality, especially with custom content and cheats.
