A modular survival and progression mod for Valheim that introduces functional backpacks crafted from biome-specific materials. Progressing naturally alongside your Viking from the early Meadows to the perilous Mistlands, each backpack introduces dedicated storage slots, carry-weight mitigation, workbench/forge upgrade trees, and unique environmental immunities (cold resistance, wet debuff negation, feather fall, wisplight mist-clearing). Fully engineered with anti-corruption safeguards, portal balance checks, gamepad navigation, and live configuration support via Configuration Manager.

Backpack Catalogue & Biome Progression:

Satchel (Meadows) — A small, lightweight starter pack crafted from early Meadow materials (Deer Hide, Leather Scraps).
Rugged Backpack (Black Forest) — A sturdy leather pack complete with brass buckles and fine strapping.
Bloodbag Wetpack (Swamp) — A durable Swamp pack sealed with bloodbags; grants the Waterproof perk (negates the Wet debuff).
Arctic Sherpa Pack (Mountain) — An insulated Mountain pack fit for freezing treks; grants Frost & Cold Resistance.
Lox Hide Knapsack (Plains) — A massive Plains pack constructed from thick lox hide featuring exceptional carry capacity.
Explorers Wisppack (Mistlands) — A mystical backpack featuring a Box of Holding, built-in Demister / Wisplight, and Slow Fall.
Ashlands Pack (Ashlands) — Coming Soon — Forged for volcanic fires and molten depths.
Deep North Pack (Deep North) — Coming Soon — Prepared for sub-zero permafrost conditions.
Legacy Packs (Legacy) — Preserves original Iron and Silver backpacks for pre-existing world saves.

Status Effects & Passive Perks:

Carry Weight Modification — Expands base carrying capacity with each upgrade rank at workbenches or forges.
Weight Reduction Multiplier — Configures how much weight items inside the backpack contribute to the player (scalable from 0% [weightless] to 100% [vanilla weight]).
Speed Modifiers — Configurable movement speed adjustments per tier that improve as backpacks are upgraded.
Frost & Cold Resistance — Shields the character from freezing mountain environments without wolf armor or frost potions.
Waterproof — Permanently negates the "Wet" status debuff during storms and swamp excursions.
Troll Armor Set Synergy — Integrates seamlessly into the Troll Leather set bonus for stealth-focused builds.
Slow Fall / Feather Fall — Completely negates fatal fall damage when traversing vertical cliffs and mountain ridges.
Demister (Wisplight) — Disperses ambient fog across the Mistlands (toggleable hotkey: default L; features smart biome detection that automatically stows the light outside the Mistlands).

Controls & Interaction Modes:

I (Default) — Open or close the equipped backpack inventory.
Hover + Hotkey — Hover over an equipped pack in your main inventory and press the hotkey to open it directly.
Open with Inventory (Configurable) — Automatically opens the backpack grid whenever the player inventory is accessed.
Y (Default) — Outward Quick Drop: Detach and drop your backpack behind you while sprinting to flee fatal encounters.
Gamepad / Controller Support — Native gamepad navigation for opening, closing, moving, and organizing pack inventories.

Advanced Mechanics & Safeguards:

Thor's Inventory Guard — Strictly prohibits backpack-in-backpack nesting to prevent infinite storage exploits and world save corruption.
Yard Sale Overflow Safeguard — If a backpack's dimensions shrink following configuration edits, excess stored items are dropped at the player's feet rather than being erased.
Right-Click Quick Transfer — Instantly transfer items or entire stacks between your inventory, backpack, or open chests with a single right-click.
Portal & Teleportation Compatibility — Fully respects Valheim's Inventory.IsTeleportable() checks; untransportable metals/ores inside packs enforce standard portal restrictions.
Key & Quest Item Recognition — Crypt keys and boss tokens stored inside your backpack function at locked doors without manual transfer.
Armor & Item Stand Mounting — Mount backpacks safely on decorative item stands and armor mannequins without data loss or duplication glitches.

Installation Instructions:

Ensure all three required dependency frameworks are installed.
Place AdventureBackpacks.dll (along with its accompanying asset bundle folder) into:
<Valheim_Directory>\BepInEx\plugins\.
Launch the game through Steam. Configure backpack stats, recipes, and drop rates inside BepInEx/config/ or dynamically in-game via Valheim Configuration Manager (F1).
