Nicole was always short on money, so she decided to earn some extra cash by taking on dangerous work at the zero cavern.

Days passed, and everything seemed to be going well — the jobs were tough, but manageable. Today, however, Nicole decided to accept a more dangerous contract. Without telling anyone, she went alone to the Abyss District — the most dangerous zone she had ever faced.

Powerful monsters attacked one after another. It became harder and harder to breathe as a thick wave of ether surrounded her, consuming her body entirely. Exhausted and overwhelmed, Nicole eventually collapsed, unconscious.

When she woke up, sharp pain coursed through every inch of her body. She tried to stand, but something heavy pinned her down. Looking down, she froze — her legs had transformed into the massive limbs of an Etherial beast. Her entire body was infected — cracks spread across her skin, covered in slime and strange growths.

In that moment, Nicole understood the horrible truth: she had become a monster. Yet, somehow, her mind remained intact — for now.
