Todd Howard on Fallout 1 and 2 remakes: «We're not ready to spend time on that right now»

Yesterday Todd Howard gave a long interview to YouTuber MrMattyPlays about the successes and plans of Bethesda studio. The conversation touched on the future of the Fallout series, support for Starfield and the development of priority projects, including The Elder Scrolls 6.

The most important from the interview:

  • A new Fallout part is in the studio's plans, but they are in no hurry to develop it yet;
  • Fallout 76 will be supported for a long time thanks to the large audience that came from the Amazon series of the same name. There will be many new locations in the game;
  • The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim and Fallout 4 will also receive support. The same goes for Starfield and the upcoming TES 6;
  • The studio is not considering remakes of Fallout 1 and 2 because «it's not ready to spend time on it.» According to Todd Howard, the games «play great on PC» and players get the authentic experience intended by the developers of the classic titles;
  • Starfield has been played by over 14 million gamers;
  • The studio is working on a new DLC for the space RPG, the game will receive one addition per year;
  • The Starfield: Shattered Space addon will feature new worlds to explore;
  • The studio plans to make prices for modifications from the Creation Club «more flexible»;
  • TES 6 will use procedural generation, but sparingly;
  • Currently, Bethesda has five large teams working on Starfield, Fallout 76, The Elder Scrolls 6, mobile games and interaction with other companies.

Let us remember that Todd Howard recently commented on the unprecedented success of the Fallout series after the release of the show from Amazon.
