Online Showcase: How GTA 5's Graphics Have Evolved Over 12 Years — A New Comparison of Different Game Versions

Yesterday (March 4), a free next-gen update for the PC version of GTA 5 was released, bringing a range of graphical enhancements to the game. A video has already surfaced online where the creator compares Grand Theft Auto 5 Enhanced with the classic version of the game.
The game was run on a PC with the following specs: NVIDIA RTX 4090 graphics card, AMD Ryzen 9 9950x processor, and 32GB of DDR5 6000 MHz RAM.
In the first video, the author not only compared the graphics but also showed how the frame rate has changed in the built-in benchmark. Ultra settings were used. In most scenes, FPS is higher in the classic version, although sometimes the benchmark showed the opposite results. On average, both versions often exceeded 100 FPS.
The second video focuses exclusively on comparing graphical effects.
The third video aims to demonstrate how the graphics in GTA 5 have changed compared to the PS3 version released in 2013.
Additionally, screenshots below show how ray tracing in Grand Theft Auto 5 Enhanced affects the graphics. The frames with RTX enabled are shown at the top.
The next-gen update brought improved ray tracing, faster load times, support for AMD FSR 3 and NVIDIA DLSS 3 upscalers, DualSense support, Dolby Atmos technology, ultra-wide monitor support, exclusive content from console versions, and animals in online mode.
Currently, Grand Theft Auto 5 Enhanced has a 51% rating on Steam. Additionally, the game is on sale with a 50% discount, but owners of the original version can download the update for free.
